We found ourselves in urgent need of alternative childcare and was browsing several profiles. Sheila reached out and the next day we went along to meet her. My son warmed to her straight away and I found her to be exactly what I was looking for. 2 days later we started the settling process. My son was with her for 1 year (age 2-3) and during that time he went on different adventures to the library, water park etc. Her sons were also really good with him. He felt like part of the family and would often ask for them.
Nanny Sheila kept me updated with picture of the different activities he was up to both indoor and out door play.
I wish I started with her from when my son 1st went into childcare. She is a safe and loving pair of hands.

Sheila is an excellent childminder. She has looked after both my children for nearly 3 years now, looking after my youngest from about 10 months. She is kind and caring and very affectionate. She is also strict when needed and raises children to be polite. She is very knowledgeable with regards to raising children through her extensive personal experience as both a mother and childminder and also through additional studies she had undertaken which she applied in her work. We supply food for our children and they have up to all 3 meals with Sheila depending on the day/situation.
I consider her to be a friend now after all these years and how close she is to our family. Her own children are also very kind and thoughtful. Our children have been very happy in her care. I have no hesitation in recommending her as a childminder.

Sheila is a very warm, caring and friendly childminder who treated our daughter as one of her own. Sheila looked after our daughter from the age of 1. Our daughter really loved the time she spent with Nanny Sheila and she often asks of her even now that she has left. Sheila took her to weekly softplay sessions and also on visits to the local library and had a number of indoor activities set up for the kids. We were happy with the care provided and would recommend her childcare services to anyone enquiring.

We've known Sheila since she looked after our son, five years ago, until he started school. When we were expecting our second child, we contacted her again to secure a place, as we knew she was an exceptional childminder and thus could easily be fully booked. Our daughter was with her full time for 18 months, and she has thoroughly enjoyed her days at Nanny. She's learnt lots, played lots and had so much fun, despite the restrictions and uncertainties due to the pandemic. We wouldn't want to repeat what was said in our first review (see below), as our opinion of Sheila has remained very high. We are very grateful to her and her sons for their warm and loving approach - each child becomes part of the family - and she will remain our go-to childcare option whenever needed in the future.

My son was 11 months when he started with Nanny Sheila. He was initially in a local nursery and hadn’t settled after many weeks but in Sheila ‘s warm and loving care, he settled quickly and has been very happy there for the past 14 months.
Sheila provides a warm, welcoming clean environment with lots of well maintained educational and fun toys to play with. As well as free play, she provides structured activities such as drawing and play dough as well as phonics and reading. She takes the children out regularly to the library, parks and soft play as well as having lots of fun in the garden when weather permits.
My son has become a confident, independent, well mannered little boy under Sheila’s care.
Sheila is very flexible and reliable, allowing us to change our days regularly as well as adding extra days and has not had a day off sick in the whole 14 months. She has a very calm nature and is very easy to talk to, accommodating our changing needs with ease.
I cannot recommend Sheila highly enough. I just wish I had found her sooner.

We found Nanny Sheila on this website and were initially impressed by the reviews, and so we got in touch. We met with Sheila and a few other childminders to decide who to go with for our son’s childcare. It was easy to see how caring Sheila is and she was very understanding of our needs and preferences - particularly not knowing initially exactly how many days we would be leaving our son with her. Sheila has been extremely flexible and has allowed us change the days at short notice and to add extra days when needed - dependent of course on the other kids she looks after.
Our son started at Sheila's when he was 7.5 months and has thrived under her care. Sheila is very patient, compassionate and enthusiastic. Our little boy loves going to Nanny Sheila’s and is extremely excited to see her and her sons. There is routine to the day at Sheila’s but she also accommodates moods and our son’s changing sleeping patterns.
We had originally planned to transfer our son to a nursery after he turned one but we have been so pleased with the care that he receives at Sheila’s that we have changed our minds, and our son’s now been going to Sheila’s for over 8 months.

I chose Shelia to be my childminder for my daughter. After looking on this website. She first became my childminder when my daughter was 3yrs old now she is 51/2. I felt immediately at ease having seen how well my daughter took to her. She is always happy to go and never in a hurry to leave. That’s how comfortable and a great relationship she is with Shelia. Shelia has a really lovely, child friendly approach manner with all the children in her care. She is kind, calm and patient. She has taken my daughter on numerous trips and days out. She provides a wide, fun range of activities including plenty of outdoor exercise.
Shelias home is always welcoming, clean and well organised and my daughter has great fun playing with all the toys available and with the other children in her care.
We have moved out the area however Shelia is still my first choice for childcare during the hoildays. I know I made absolutely the right choice because my daughter is so happy there and really loves Shelia.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Shelia to look after your children. I am more than satisfied with everything she does with my daughter and that she is providing a safe environment.

My son has been looked after by Sheila since he was about two years old. He settled in very quickly thanks to her warm character and expertise in caring for children. Her own three boys have always been lovely role models for my son, and he considers them as family now. Sheila is extremely flexible and understanding of the challenges for working parents. I've swapped days on a monthly basis, as well as timings, and she has always been incredibly accommodating. My son is very active and thus enjoys being with Sheila, as she is always on the move, bouncing from one activity to another, visiting the local libraries, soft play, parks and other childminders. Being a single child, my son's social skills have developed immensely in the last year, and I feel that he is now equipped to start school with strong foundations, thanks to his wonderful childminder. My son will still be partly looked after by Sheila next year, as she agreed to drop him to school in the moorings and pick him up at the end of the day. I truly wish I had found her earlier, and I would recommend her warmly to any parent looking for one of the best childminder in the area.

When I found Miss Sheila (lucky she had a opening) I was extremely happy. My final test was whether my baby would feel comfortable. And he did instantly.
Sheila (Nanny) is the best childminder I have had. I have used a few over the years but none compare to Sheila. She is very friendly and personable, professional and reliable. I've never known her to stay in like some minders too. She is always out and about with the children she looks after which I think is amazing as she continues to provide the activities that us parents would love to during the day while you're at work.
My son has matured and learnt so much thanks to sheila, he's at the age where he picks up everything and he has grown into the intelligent young man I knew he would be, thanks to Miss Sheila of course.
I'm devastated that I am taking a break from using her services but as soon as my circumstances change I will quickly get my son wit Sheila again.

I approached Sheila just after Emma was born in July 2012 and Sheila started taking care of Emma in December when she was 5 months old. Sheila is absolutely lovely, caring and she is really patient with children. She listens to their needs and does many activities indoors and outdoors such as painting, reading, singing, mornings at library, afternoons at soft play, walks in the park. I've seen Emma progressing a lot around Sheila in terms of motricity & language and she learned very good manners. Sheila is also fantastic with parents - keeping notes of what Emma is doing during the day and also very flexible in terms of hours (in case of long hours at the office or business trips). Her children are very friendly and kind towards Emma playing with her every morning and evening. Sheila pays attention to health and safety and I've always feel very confident to leave Emma at her place. Really easy to talk to and warm-hearted Sheila is now part of the family. Emma is now 3 and half year old and Sheila is still looking after her during the day. Emma loves Sheila who she calls "Nanny" and always goes to her place with a big smile (and never wants to leave!).
