All you could want and more

My son Benjamin (15 months) has been with Clare part-time now for 6 months. Clare is very professional, extremely reliable and the level of communication is top notch. In terms of her care for my son - you couldn't ask for more. He has progressed well in his communication, has developed a great love of books and is throughly stimulated with different activities each week. Clare's facilities are really impressive from the fully kitted playroom to the excellent and extensive children-friendly garden. Benjamin has been on trips to the park, childminders groups, as well as been involved in a birthday party where (young) friends and childminders came to enjoy!You can see that she thoroughly enjoys looking after all the children and treats them as if they are part of her lovely family. I would thoroughly recommend Clare to anyone looking for a wonderful childminder.

Could not ask for more

My son is 2 and has been going to Clare for 3 days a week since August, I am over the moon with how Jayden has progressed since being with Clare. Clare does lots of daily activities with him and he learns about different topics each week. This is fantastic as he come home everyday and tells me all about it.

I couldn't ask for more, I would rate Clare very highly and wouldnt want to send Jayden anywhere else.

Clare Welham

My 14 month old son has been looked after by Clare on a full time basis for the last 2 months. He began at the beginning of January 2010 following a few settling in periods during December. He has settled in very quickly and has a lovely time each day. Clare lives in a comfortable home which includes a fantastic play room stocked full of toys, games, dressing up clothing, books and much more. There is a lovely fenced play area in the garden with a slide, wendy house, glider and more. There is also a nice nursery where the little ones can sleep.

Safety is of course paramount and Clare appears to have thought of just about everything. Cot blankets in the nursery double up as fire blankets, older children are taught a drill so they know what to do if they discover a fire and I understand she arranges visits from the local fire brigade for older children. There are battery operated lights located around the house in case of power cuts. The playroom floor is covered in soft foam large jigsaw pieces which is also warm and the outdoor play area is covered in deep bark making a soft landing for when the children are running around. Clare has a pet dog called Cassie who is very well trained. Cassie and the children are never left alone together and Cassie is kept in the utility area when food is being prepared and the children are eating. The house is very clean and is warm and welcoming.

Clare also makes sure the children are taken out and about. There is a great park located within a couple of minutes walk from her house and my son enjoys playing on the play ground equipment there. They often take Cassie for a walk and he loves watching her running around and playing. He has also been to a local farm and although he did not touch the animals he enjoyed watching and listening to the noises they make. He has also been to a local soft play area but on the whole Clare likes to walk as much as possible and take the time to discuss with the little ones what they see whilst they are out and about. Clare also attends a childminder’s group and has other childminder’s round her house which gives the little one’s plenty of time to socialise with other children of their own and different ages. Sometimes, Clare’s children are around and they also spend time playing with and entertaining the children

In addition, to playing Clare provides musical instruments and sings nursery rhymes. They listen to music and dance. She also gives them reading time and my son loves to look at the touch and feel books and has learnt how to turn the pages and feel the different textures on the page.

I feel my son (developmentally) has come on very well since starting with Clare and my partner and I are very pleased with his progress to date. Clare achieved a ‘good’ rating in all areas of her OFSTED report but I feel she consistently exceeds this standard. Clare provides excellent care and my partner and I highly recommend her.
