About Me
Hello :) I am seeking work as a nanny either 2 days a week or mornings and afterschool. I am available to start early January.
I am months away from completing my Play Therapy qualification. I do not plan on working full time as a Play Therapist and therefore I am looking for a nanny role for 2 full days a week OR school pickup/drop off and evening work. I loved being a nanny in the past and feel like this is a great way that I can move forwards, enjoy my work and have a good balance in my work life.
I started training as a Play Therapist in Feb 2019 and am due to qualify at the end of this year.
I work in a person centred way and use my understanding of attachment in the way I work with children, parents and schools. I have always focussed on the emotional well being of children within all my previous roles and Play Therapy is a way I can combine everything and all the things I continue to learn to support children to better understand themselves, build resilience and self-esteem.
I am currently working as a Family Support Worker for West Sussex County Council. I work with families in a strength based way to help them to achieve the changes they want for their family. I am seeking a change and rebalance in my work life as I grow my career.
My Experience
I have been a nanny and au pair when I was younger. I had a gap year and was an au pair for two boys aged 4months and 2 years in Sydney, Australia. I then returned to Sydney and worked with this lovely family two summers in a row when I was studying my degree in Birmingham. I also worked with a family with two boys aged 1 and 4 years over the summer and as an ad hoc nanny while I worked as a Teaching Assistant. I feel comfortable and confident in the day to day care of young children, I have experience with some special additional needs and school aged children. I use creatively and play in all that I do.
In the past I have worked with children and young people in a mental health information and advice capacity. Before this, I was a Teaching Assistant in a special needs school. And I started my career working in nurseries. My undergraduate degree was in Early Childhood Studies in Birmingham City.
I have learnt a great deal from all the children, families and colleagues about what compassionate care looks like and I take these lessons with me in the way I work and making plans for the future.
My Qualifications
I am due to complete my Diploma in Play Therapy in 2022. Play Therapy UK, APAC and with Leeds Beckett University.
Distinction in Certificate in Therapeutic Play Skills 2020, Play Therapy UK, APAC and with Leeds Beckett University.
First class BA (hons) degree in Early Childhood Studies from Birmingham City University.
Intravenor qualification to work with deafblind young people.
DBS clearance.
Pediactric first aid.
My Availability
I am either looking for 2 full days a week or 4 days drop off and pick up and evenings. I am flexible about days of the week at this point but that will change.

My Fees
- Babysitting from £18.00 per hour
- Nannying from £18.00 per hour (gross)
I am open to have a discussion as this might cost a different amount for babysitting in the evening compared with a whole day of nanny care. I am also happy to talk about availability as I can be flexible about this.
