About Me

My name is Roxelle Kimberley I am a very active 36 year old with over 17 years experience in childcare. I have always enjoyed looking after children of all ages. I feel that one of my main strengths is my communication skills with both children and parents and my ability to ‘muck in’ and help out wherever needed. I get great job satisfaction from watching children in my care learn, grow and develop, while knowing I made a difference in that young person’s life.
I’m calm, attentive and enjoy creating games and fun things to do for children. I do this by creating activities that include one or more if these elements, Physical (exercise, crawling, running, playing in the park), Mental (memory, emotions), Skills (balancing, riding a bike, writing), Verbal (learning to talk – younger children, pronunciation and defined repetition). I enjoy taking the children out to local groups to help their social skills, getting them out in the fresh air and giving them opportunities to run off steam. No day is ever the same. I’m very conscious about safety, implement a good routine and provide gentle discipline where needed. I took great pleasure in researching and learn about ‘The Importance of Sleep and Routines’ in Newborns and toddlers. (This was great to implement and try with my own baby). I too have used this with my Family who felt it worked perfectly for them.
I’m a bubbly smiley, happy person who loves my job. I feel my experience over the last 16 years of all ages, ranging from Newborns to 13 year old’s, has given me so much pleasure and sense of achievement. I have worked with some incredible children, and parents for that matter. I thoroughly enjoy the one to one interactions with children and would really like to continue in the childcare sector.

I’m a believer of a healthy active lifestyle, I am an avid road cyclist who loves the great outdoors. Weather permitting I am out on my bike every chance I get. Before I had my own little boy in 2018, I was a busy member of a local cycling club and have took part in many events, one I am most proud of, is the Prudential Ride London 100. Cycling a 100 miles through closed roads in London and Surrey with thousands of other people was so much fun. I also enjoy Swimming, running, walking and just getting out in the fresh air. Now I have my own little boy, who keeps me on my toes! I still keep myself as active as possible.

The best thing that has ever happen to me was, recently having my own gorgeous little bouncing baby boy.

My Experience

I worked at Tiny Tots Day Care Nursery for 3.5 years as a Nursery Nurse in the baby/toddler room working with children aged 3 months - 2 years.

I was a Nanny for a wonderful family with Twins. The Twins were 6 months old when I started and they are now 16 years old and attending their local private school. I have had to manage my time and organise, on a daily basis, an educational routine that prepared them for Pre-school and taught them about the world around them. My duties have included full nursery duties (including dressing, bathing, cooking etc) as well as creating practical lessons in cooking, sports and craft, and more recently working with the twins after school on various academic activities. To develop the children's social skills I regularly took them to organised group activities and also did plenty of days out. My time with this family has been a long one, and I have done jobs above and beyond just Nannying duties, more like The Family’s PA, these have included, taking the cars to be serviced, running errands, painting rooms, overseeing building work, helping out in the garden and many more. Since the Twins has been going to Private School, my hours have been cut to a part time basis and that means being able to enjoy my son and keep working with this wonderful family, but unfortunately the family no longer need a nanny.

During my time with the Twin’s family I have also taken part in 2 separate nanny shares, firstly with a family who had a 9 month old until 5 years old (now 15 years old) and then more recently another family with 2 boys, aged between 18 months - 5 years.

More recently I’ve split my week and nanny for 2 different families. Both have 2 boys ranging from 3 months old to 6 years old. It’s been great sun working with these two families. Sadly my time is coming to an end due to the children starting school.

My Qualifications

I studied at BCOT (Basingstoke College of Technology) and was awarded a CACHE Level 3 DCE (Diploma in Childcare and Education)

I did plenty of placement work at Nurseries and Schools in college and enjoyed the variety of different experiences.

I am First Aid Trained, DBS checked and happy to be Ofsted registered
