About Me
Hello I’m Miranda and I am an Ofsted registered Childminder with a Good rating in my last inspection. I am a predominately 0-3.5/4 year old setting.
I am a happily married and a mummy, with two beautiful older children, and we have a cat, called Pepper and a puppy called Paddy (he has his own outdoor area)
My setting is a home from home environment, with a safe and completely enclosed back garden that we can use on dry and wet days.
I have a love for being outside, incorporating all areas of the Early Years curriculum into our play, whilst out and about.
I am a member of the Forest Childcare Association, and i have an NVQ childcare qualification, and makaton level 1 & 2.
I do attend various toddler groups, as i feel can help all my little ones learn how to socialise, and develop friendships outside of our little family circle.
But mostly we love going out and about on our own, but we do also go with other childminders to all kinds of places!
We can stay local and go to Haldon forest, Mamhead, Stover to feed the ducks and partake in some pond dipping looking for water boatmen, pond skaters, dragonflies etc , Bovey Parke, and also Dartmoor to find the ponies, look for different fungi, flora, fauna and lichen.
We also enjoy walking to our local play parks or going through the local fields and forests and playing in the streams.
World of country life is always a favourite to see all the different animals, as is Paignton zoo, Pennywell Farm, Escot and we do occasionally go on trips on the local trains and buses to the Beach, they love this adventure, and i have photos of all of these on my page please see link below
We also go a little further afield to the donkey sanctuary, plymouth aquarium, and to various other farms to see their animals.
If it's a wet weather day we put on our wet weather clothing and go outside for some muddy puddle jumping, or we can stay in and bake cakes, biscuits, bread, soups etc or just have fun with messy crafts.
I have my own vehicle and have all the relevant business use insurance, and car seats.
My Experience
I have over 20yrs experience working with children of various ages, but in particular i now work with mostly littleones from 1month to 3.5 years. I hold a Childcare NVQ, Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding Children Level 3, Food Safety level 2, S<P, i’m a member of Forest Childcare Association, and have done various other courses, I have also have experience with ASD , and level 1 & 2 training in makaton.
Before becoming a childminder I worked at Chudleigh's local pre-school/rising 5s, and i also did some training/worked at the local Daisy Chain nursery, and i have worked and volunteered at a local primary school.
I attend different courses regularly to keep myself up to date.
My Qualifications
Paediatric First aid, NVQ in childcare, Introduction to Childcare Practice, Food Safety, Safeguarding Children Level 3, Speech and language therapy diploma , AXs01 Introduction to integrated working Makaton level 1 & 2 and lots of various other training.
I attend training courses regularly to keep up to date with all the current legislation

I will have a Monday and Tuesday space end of feb beginning of April 26 for a little one of 1 and under
I currently work Monday Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday 8am-4.30 occasionally 5pm.

My Fees
- Childminding from £7.00 per hour
I am a registered funded childminder I accept the funding for 9month, 2, 3 year olds please talk to me about the funding if this is what you require, and I also take all childcare vouchers tax free childcare etc.
My Local Schools
