About Me
I am a registered childminder for almost 20 years now,I have to say I really love it. I have looked after so many young children and babies with such varying needs that makes my job so interesting and rewarding.I live in a beautiful Victorian property on the edge of Hampstead Heath which has an amazing child friendly play area and the lakes or ponds with the ducks It's-a fantastic place for the children to go and not too far-away. We attend this regularly. We love our Nature Walks and the children Love the play area. When I had my Ofsted Inspection I took the Inspector there. We also attend the Library as we Love our Books.There is varying Group Sessions there during term time. I implement Montessori Techniques within my setting as I studied it when I was younger. The children who come to my Setting generally stay a long time 2 to 3 years. For the past 6 years I have looked after 2 children from the same family. I Implement the early years EYFS programme within my setting. I attend relevant courses to keep My Setting up to date in all aspects of Learning. I also did Child phychology when I achieved My Child Welfare Diploma with NAMCW, not knowing how valuable it would be in my work.I always keep my numbers to a minimum. 3 children usually attend. It can vary during holiday time..I like to give full attention to the children, in my setting. I still have children coming back to visit even though they have gone a long time. It's always wonderful to have seen them grow up,and to come back.
My Experience
My experience goes Back over 20 years due to the large family I am from myself. Children have always been such a big part of my life. When I came to London to live and work I did a child welfare course which took me into schools and nurseries on a regular basis. This is when I knew it was what I really wanted to do. I am very lucky that I can do this from my own home . I am minding and working with children for almost 20 years now ,and find it so rewarding. It is wonderful to see children progress and move on to nursery or pre school.The important thing for me is that they are happy in my environment and really want to come here. I always seem to get the 6 month age group and they stay until they are 3yrs old.By the end of their time here I know the family very well. I tend to work for families who dont have extended family here in London. I know how difficult that can be for parents. For eg A parent recently had a Baby So I looked after the Older child who attended My Setting and had Just started School. That helped a lot because the Child felt at home here. The parents could Concentrate on the Birth without worrying about The other Child.There are times when parents need that bit of extra Support. Prospective parents can ring other parents to get a more Personal View of my Setting.

My Qualifications
I am educated to A level and have gained Childcare Qualifications I am Ofsted and Pacey registered .. I received a Good in my recent Ofsted Inspection .
My Availability
I am hoping to mind 2 little ones in September. I have availability for one more child . That can be on a full or part time basis.I work with the emphasis on giving parents feedback on the child's progress regularly.I like this to be written down as part of daily observations on the prime and specific areas of learning.This can help parents with development at home,and helps everyone working with the child to be helping the child's progress.I also keep a journal and a learning book on each child,,which helps in observations and defines different areas of development.This helps the parents to be able to ask questions and communicate and understand the EYFS. All childcare providers have to undertake The progress check at age 2 which helps the nursery or Pre school to know the starting point of the child going in to their environment.This is very important for child parent and teacher.
