About Me
I'm Cheryl and my husband is Robert and we are a childminding partnership based in Stepps and are fully qualified. We are registered jointly with The Care Inspectorate and are also members of the Scottish Childminders Association and fully insured. We are funded providers for North Lanarkshire Council in order that your child can take their funded hours in our childcare service.
We have a lovely 16 year old son and a 10 year old laid back and very friendly black labrador dog called Shadow, who has been raised amongst the children from weeks old.
We look after a variety of ages of children just now and currently take children to and from Stepps Primary School. In addition to this we shall be including Chryston Primary School in our drop off and collection.
My Experience
Cheryl has been childminding since 2007 and has had the pleasure of working with many families in that time and is still in touch with many who have moved on and holds references from many of these families for perusal. Cheryl enjoys watching the children progress through their stages and helping them to do this and always tries to work with families to help meet their needs. Cheryl keeps her training up-to-date and received her Certificate of Achievement for completing her Scheme of Excellence award and has completed her SVQ 3 in Social Services (Children and Young People) SCQF Level 7.
Robert has just joined Cheryl as a childminder. Robert is currently working through various training courses (including Paediatric First Aid). Robert brings with him his engineering experience which lends itself greatly to leading activities such as STEM and outdoor learning.
Our service is currently graded a 5 out of a possible 6 from our last inspection by SCSWIS.
My Qualifications
SVQ 3 in Social Service (Children and Young People) SCQF Level 7
I have all the expected training which I keep up to date such as First Aid, Infection Control, Child Protection, Food Hygiene, Understanding Autism, The Solihull Approach and many more.

Cheryl and Robert provide a loving, nurturing and fun environment for little ones to play and learn - they get kids outdoors lots, have lots of messy play opportunities and do plenty reading and songs. I highly recommend their service - my little girl loved her time with them!

Our daughter attended Robert and Cheryl’s childminding service for 3 years and absolutely loved her time there. Robert and Cheryl provide a caring, welcoming environment and are always looking for ways to improve the service they offer. They regularly seek feedback from both parents and children, which shows how much they genuinely care about providing the best experience possible.
Their setting is great for children who benefit from socialising with a wider group of children. Because there are two childminders, they can accommodate a larger group than many other childminders, which gives children more opportunities to make friends and build confidence around others.
Our daughter made so many lovely friendships during her time there and still talks about it fondly. She misses Robert and Cheryl and all the friends she made there, which says so much about the happy and supportive environment they create. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a caring and engaging childminding service.

My son has been with Chery and Ronert for the past 10 years, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for better people to care for him. They have been a constant, positive presence in his life — supporting not only him, but also myself through some very challenging times.
Over the years, they have provided a safe, nurturing, and fun environment where my son has grown, learned, and built lasting friendships. Their patience, kindness, and genuine care go far beyond what anyone could expect. They are more than childminders — they've become part of our family.
I’m endlessly grateful for all the love, stability, and encouragement they have given us over the years. I would wholeheartedly recommend Chery and Robert to any parent looking for someone truly special to care for their child.
