About Me
Hello! My name is Lynnette Thomson and I have been childminding since 2007. I live with my three grown up daughters and our dog Fudge, on Duncan Street in Bonnybridge. I have my SVQ Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People (Social Services). I am also trained in Forest Kindergarten and have a degree in Occupational Therapy. I am quite an outdoorsy person and enjoy taking the children on many different kinds of outdoor adventures! I also have a homely house environment wth front and back gardens, play room and have many natural and loose part resources for imaginative play.
I work closely with parents to ensure every child's needs are met and I am approachable and flexible in my approach. I follow the Curriculum for Excellence, Shanarri framework and GIRFEC.
The children in my care enjoy coming up with ideas for activities or projects and often our themes are child led and progress through the children's imaginations and inspirations.
I am registered childminder and am regulated by the Care Inspectorate.

My Experience
Prior to working as a childminder I worked as an Occupational Therapist for 12 years, therefore I have a vast experience of working with people with additional needs.
I have three daughters of my own. For a number of years when working in my last job, I juggled being a mum with young kids and appreciate how difficult this can be. Therefore as your childminder I understand how important it is your child feels settled and daily routines are maintained whilst in my care. I offer repeated settling in periods and excellent daily communication to ensure all your childs needs are met and you are informed of their daily progress.

Degree in Occupational Therapy
Childminding Pre-registration Training
Module 1 of British Sign Language
Child Protection Training
Infection Control Training
First aid training with the British Red Cross
Food hygiene
SVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People (Social Services)
SVQ Forest Kindergarten Training
I have attended workshops in,

And many more.
My Availability
I work Monday - Friday
8am - 5.30/6pm
Times outside these hours and occasional weekend work will be considered
I work in partnership with Falkirk Council as a provider of Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) and can offer up to 30 hours free childcare per week for three and four year olds who are entitled to 1140 hours. I can also offer wrap around or blended care with nursery, so children can experience the Early Learning and Childcare service in a nursery environment and a home from home environment. Together this creates a balance of knowledge, experience, rest and play.
I can also provide an Early Learning and Childcare service for Eligible two year olds.

Lynnette has been looking after my two boys for a few years now and they love going there. It really is like a second home to them and they feel so comfortable and welcome.
Lynnette always has projects and topics for the children to take part in and makes sure all the kids are included at an age appropriate level, difficult when dealing with a variety of ages and stages but she makes it look easy. She takes the children on lots of days out, during the holidays they are rarely in. Even when they are at home she has a great outdoor space and encourages the children to play outside with some of the many toys and games she provides. She sends messages most days with pictures of what they've been up to, they're lovely to receive and know that your children are having a great time.
She is a very calm and nurturing person, will always take time to chat with the children and talk to them about their day. She really cares about all her mindees, this is more than just a job to her so it makes going to work and leaving your kids with her that much easier.

I would highly recommend Lynnette to anyone looking for childcare. My daughter had just turned one when I had to go back to work. We both suffered from separation anxiety, however Lynnette reassured us in her lovely calm manner & made the transition easier than I'd feared, with lots of updates & photos of my wee one visiting great groups and places, all smiling and happy. I feel secure that my daughter is very well cared for and nurtured, & always has fun. She's now three and a half and loves going to Lynnette's!

Lynnette has provided care for my child since my son was 6 months old ( he is 8 this year) Lynnette has always been very flexible as I used to work shifts, if I needed to swap days /change hours she would always go out her way to accommodate me, my son has the best time at Lynnettes they are always on the go with outings (parks/beach/fire station/airport) she is fantastic with kids her girls are also fantastic with all the children that Lynnette provides care for ,
I would has no hesitation in recommending Lynnette as a caring friendly reliable childcare provider for any child 😁
