About Me
My name is Andrea and I have been a Registered Childminder for 21 years. I am also a Level 3 Senco (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)
Located in the south side of Rushden just a 5 minute walk from Southend Infant and Junior Schools in a large detached house with ample parking. My setting is clean, light, modern and airy. We are lucky to be very close to the schools with no busy roads to cross, and just an easy walk to and from School. I have worked closely with both Schools for 18 years.
I offer a modern day approach to early childhood, taking mainly inspiration from the nurseries of Reggio Emilia in Northern Italy, as well as a pinch of Montessori, Te Whariki and Steiner, which all contribute to make up my setting which creates a culture of awe, curiosity and wonder which are embedded in the heart of the service and setting I provide for the children.
As a small setting, I am able to focus on and adapt to your child’s style of learning. All children are unique and so are their learning styles. It is my job to make sure that the best opportunities for learning are as individual as the children in my care. Adopting the Reggio Emilia approach means building firm relationships with you, the parents, as well as your child. I know that each family unit is unique, so I adapt my environment according to the needs of the families in my care. This creates, healthy, confident children who are happy to take risks, in a safe and challenging environment.
I have a cat called Dexter.
I offer term time, school holidays, part time and full time hours.

Andrea has been very helpful picking up my daughter from school a few times a week, I can't explain in words how much of a burden it is off my mind knowing my child is in safe hands when I can't be there.

We have had our son (four years old) at Andreas for a few weeks now. The first four days, I left him there crying; it was heartbreaking for me as a parent. But Andrea reassured me that he would adjust and do well. My son had never stayed in a child care setting in his four years, so we understood he might find it challenging at first. Andrea kept us updated, and she was patient and resourceful with him. She came up with the lovely idea of letting him choose his reward stickers and gave him his first one after the first crying-free drop-off. Also, I want to mention that our son's first language isn't English so that communication may have been a bit confusing for both my son and Andrea. Still, the language barrier hasn't been something to worry about for Andrea, and she has been very good with our son and involved from the beginning. Our son loves animals, and having Dexter there was a big plus for him. 🐈♥️
Our son has grown to enjoy his time at Andrea's, and no longer cries at drop-off. He comes home very happy and tells us, very excited, how his time went there. We are happy that he is making new friends, building confidence, and improving his communication, which will prepare him for starting school next year. Andrea puts a lot of effort into her work, keeps her place well maintained, and constantly tries new ways to offer better alternatives for children. Also, when we went for the first viewing, I communicated to Andrea how my son loves dinosaurs, and she said she would have the dinosaur toys ready for his starting day, and she did. She is so thoughtful and pays close attention to detail.
Overall, we are very pleased with Andrea, and we have already recommended her to friends and family; we will consider her for our youngest when the time comes.

I couldn’t recommend Andrea highly enough She has provided fantastic afterschool care for my child, creating a safe, welcoming, and caring environment where my child has always felt happy and settled.
My child has really enjoyed spending time with her after school, taking part in activities, and coming home happy every time.
It gives me great peace of mind knowing my child is in such caring hands while I’m at work. Andrea’s kindness, patience, and genuine care have made such a positive difference to our family, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for excellent childcare.

Andrea was looking after my son Tytus during half term, he is a SEND child, struggles with transitions, communication and independence. Andrea is very kind, caring and supports children independence. Tytus loved time spent at Andrea's, he found a new friend and was asking is he going back to Andrea soon. Andrea has beautiful full of different toys appropriate room for children to play and explore. I am very cautious about who looks after Tytus due to his medical problems and definitely I can go to work relaxed and reassured that Tytus has so experienced childminder. I Definity would recommend Andrea , also she is very organised regarding to paperwork and send me a lot of pictures of my son how he spent his day. 5/5 starts from me . Huge thank you .

I highly recommend Andrea, her home is lovely with lots of fun activities for the children to learn and play, Andrea always updates me with photos of my son and she's always on hand with any questions I have, she's a truly lovely lady.

We’ve only just started, but I can already say that I’m very happy . I can see progress in my daughter every day, and that’s thanks to Andrea patience and dedication. She sends me pictures daily , always keeps me updated about how things are going, and she’s happy to answer any questions.
Very kind , pleasant person and easy to communicate with her.
Even though my daughter is just stating out,I can already see she feels more and more comfortable each day.
I truly recommend her🌷

Our 2.5-year-old son has been with Andrea for 1 month now and we couldn’t be happier. She is incredibly caring, patient, and attentive to his needs. She provides a safe and stimulating environment, with plenty of fun and educational activities that my son genuinely enjoys. Communication is excellent – we always receive updates about his day, meals.It’s clear he feels happy and secure in her care. I would highly recommend Andrea to any parent looking for a reliable and nurturing childminder.
