About Me

JoJo’s Childcare – A Home from Home in Freckleton

Choosing childcare is one of the biggest decisions you’ll make, and I understand how important it is to find somewhere your child will feel happy, safe and loved.

I’m Joanne Green, an Ofsted registered childminder with over 20 years of experience, offering a warm, nurturing home-from-home environment where children can learn through play, build confidence and enjoy being children.

My setting is calm, welcoming and filled with carefully chosen wooden and open-ended resources that encourage curiosity, imagination and independence. Every day is full of opportunities to explore, whether we’re enjoying creative activities, sharing stories, singing songs, discovering nature or heading out into our local community.

What makes my setting special?

Every child is treated as an individual. I take time to get to know their interests, routines and personality so I can provide experiences that help them grow in confidence and develop at their own pace.

My approach is inspired by Montessori principles, encouraging children to become independent learners through hands-on play, real-life experiences and plenty of opportunities to make their own choices.

A typical week includes:

• Daily outdoor adventures and fresh air
• Visits to parks, the allotments and around our local community
• Story time, songs and rhymes
• Arts, crafts and messy play
• Sensory and small world activities
• Role play and imaginative play
• Mark making and early literacy opportunities
• Plenty of free play, laughter and cuddles

I also co-run a local toddler group, giving children the opportunity to build friendships, develop social skills and grow in confidence alongside other children.

Before & After School Care

I provide before and after school care for children attending Freckleton C of E School, helping to support local working families with a consistent and caring environment.

Your child’s wellbeing comes first

Creating strong relationships with children and their families is at the heart of everything I do. I work closely with parents to ensure every child feels secure, valued and supported.

I follow the EYFS framework, keep my safeguarding and first aid training up to date and maintain a safe, stimulating environment where children can flourish.

Why families choose JoJo’s Childcare

• Over 20 years of childminding experience
• Warm, home-from-home environment
• Small, friendly setting with individual attention
• Montessori-inspired learning through play
• Daily outings and outdoor adventures
• Natural, open-ended resources
• Strong partnerships with parents
• Before and after school care for Freckleton C of E School
• Funded childcare available (where eligible)
• Monday to Thursday care

I believe childhood should be filled with fun, kindness, exploration and happy memories. My aim is for every child to leave each day feeling loved, confident and excited to come back tomorrow.

My Experience

Every Child Matters

Over the last 20 years, I’ve learnt that no two children are the same. Every child has their own personality, interests and way of learning, and I love helping them discover what makes them shine.

My role is to provide a caring, nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued and confident enough to explore the world around them. Through play, encouragement and gentle guidance, I help children build independence, resilience and a lifelong love of learning.

Inspired by Montessori principles, my setting is filled with beautiful natural and open-ended resources that encourage children to think creatively, solve problems, make choices and learn at their own pace.
