About Me
My Name is Heather Adam. I live in Aldershot with my husband Bill and my grown up son Ollie, age 22, all dbs checked. I was born in London but have lived in Aldershot for most of my life. I started Childminding when Ollie was a toddler. I have found that working with children is extremely rewarding and have now made Childminding my career and not just a job. I live on a popular estate in Aldershot and my house is in a quiet cul-de-sac. My house is a smoke free house with a peaceful atmosphere where children can play and learn safely. We have a 15 year old Spaniel dog called Hobbes, who we have had since he was a small puppy so he has grown up around young children and is very good with them. He has his own safe area, which is separate from the children. We also have 2 two year old cats, Willow and Wisp. They tend to make themselves scarce when I'm working. I ensure that the children do not have any unsupervised contact with any of the pets. They are all wormed, treated for fleas and have had all the necessary injections.
My Experience
I have been registered with Ofsted as a Childminder since 2005. At my last inspection in March 2023 I was awarded an overall OFSTED rating of 'Good'. I am also a member of PACEY (Professional Association in Childcare and Early Year). During that time I have looked after lots of children all of whom have been very happy. I take my minded children to various toddler groups, where they can meet their friends and make new ones. I have a lovely park within walking distance of my house and Aldershot Library is also a regular visit.
My Qualifications
I am up to date with my first aid training and safeguarding. I like to keep up to date with new legislation and current practices, through continued personal development training.
My Availability
My hours are 7.30am to 5.30pm, Mon - Thurs.
I can offer full or part time spaces for children from birth onwards.
I can also offer term time only
I WILL HAVE 1 SPACE AVAILABLE FROM FEB 2026, DEPENDING ON THE AGE, DAYS AND HOURS REQUIRED.
I accept the 30 hours government funding and tax free childcare payments.

I think heather and bill should be awarded babysitter of the year as they have created an extremely welcoming, homely, caring and educational environment in their home. I always feel completely comfortable leaving my son in their care.

My 2 year old daughter has only recently started with Heather, but she has settled amazingly - far quicker than I could have expected. Heather provides a nurturing, and very much home-from-home environment, in both her set-up and the way in which she cares for the children. My daughter attended a nursery previously, and even though it's only been a short time, she seems to have settled in this new setting, far better than she ever did at nursery! This is extremely reassuring, as she's very much a mummy's girl and rather clingy at times. Thank you Heather, for making this transition so easy for us both :) I'm really pleased we found you!
