About Me
Hello, my name is Donna.
I consider myself to be a warm, friendly person with a great sense of humour!
I strongly believe that children learn and thrive in a stimulating environment, I love the ‘curiosity’ approach for encouraging inquisitive learning.
I am also a fan of outdoor activities, there’s nothing you can do indoors that you can’t do outdoors.
Gardening is something I enjoy and like to involve children in, I have an allotment plot where we occasionally visit in warmer weather.
I love to read, cook and usually have a creative project on the go.
I have dogs, they are part of my family and have had children around them regularly as I have four grandchildren.
My Experience
I worked as a registered child minder from 1997 until 2006 with children from four months to ten years.
Voluntary work at school in France and Australia whilst re-located with husbands employment.
House keeper/childcare provider in Australia.
Seven years as a Teaching assistant at primary level working with children from Early Years Foundation Stage to year six.
I have home tutored Children age 7-11 .
Taught English as a second language and have been working as a nanny/mothers help for just over a year but have re-registered as an Ofsted registered childminder.
I am available for Glory Farm drop off and pick up.
My Qualifications
NVQ level 3 in CYPW
TEFL
Teaching Asst Level 2
GCSE English, maths. Home economics, sociology.
Have received training in safeguarding, up to and including level 3.
Paediatric First aid.
Level 2 food hygiene.
Training in understanding and working with ADHD.
Training in Supporting Successful Learning in Primary School.
Early Years Teamwork and Leadership course.
Training in The Role of Play in Children’s Learning.
