Hi my name is Kelley,I'm 47 Kelley's is my home childcare setting.
I have a 22year old son and an 20year old daughter.
I became an Ofsted registered childminder in 2005 after being a qualified nanny for 10 years as well as working in nurseries during those previous years also .
I see our home as being welcoming, child friendly and fun. A laid back household planned out with the little ones in mind.We have an inviting play room with a varied selection of toys / equipment for the children’s learning and play . The area is very much the children's space where I aim to ensure all children feel at home and very much a part of their setting .
During term time our daily routine is structured but flexible and includes planned activities and free play times.
Personal, Social and Emotional development is a focus here . The children develop social skills and go on to build friendships during their time here . Arts and crafts along with music and singing times are favourites with the children .
Above all I like to think of our home as a safe and happy place for children to be while Mummy/Daddy/Carer is at work.
During my time in childcare I have built good relationships with both children in my care and parents.I have references available to view on request as well as reviews on here.
My Ofsted report (graded "good" in 2005,2010 and more recently in 2015 and 2017) are also available to view on request. I am more than happy to email over reports and references also.
My Experience
I have lots of varied/gained experience in childcare. I have cared for children from newborn to the teenage years.This includes long term positions with families. I have also trained and worked in varied childcare settings .
My first childcare position and college course ran alongside each other. From this I gained a 'Diploma in Childcare and Childhood education' at NVQ level 3.The course involved learning,training and teaching in all areas of child development. observing and assessing development,good childcare practise,managing child care settings,child protection,health and safety,first aid and more.I attended college to learn about all the above in depth.
I more recently completed the 'Working With Children and Young People' childcare course and gained the updated NVQ 3 diploma qualification .The course ran for 18months , included coursework , regular assessments and exams. It was an extremely in depth study,covering all aspects of childcare development and practise.
Refresher training as a childminder is ongoing .Some areas being compulsory such as first aid training and child protection/safe guarding children .
I am passionate about good and positive starts in the Early Years for children .

- Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
- Nannying from £25.00 per hour (net)
Care costs to include activities/toddler groups) are from £7 hour -including dinner.

We feel incredibly lucky to have found Kelley. Our daughter started with her when she was just one year old, and from the very beginning Kelley made what could have been a really daunting transition feel easy and reassuring.
Kelley provides such a warm, safe and welcoming environment. It genuinely feels like a home-from-home, and you can see how much care and thought she puts into everything she does. Our daughter settled in so quickly and now absolutely loves going - which says everything. There are no tears at drop-off, just excitement to get inside and see Kelley and her friends.
The range of activities is fantastic. From arts and crafts to music, playtime and regular outings including the park, every day is varied and engaging. It is clear that Kelley focuses not just on keeping children entertained, but on supporting their development, confidence and social skills. We have seen such a positive difference in our daughter since starting. she has grown in confidence, communication and independence.
Communication from Kelley is excellent. The regular updates about meals, naps and daily activities are so reassuring, especially in the early days, and it is lovely to see photos of what they have been up to. Kelley is always approachable, happy to give advice and incredibly supportive.
Her experience really shows. She is calm, patient, knowledgeable and clearly passionate about childcare. You always feel that your child is in very safe and capable hands.
We honestly could not recommend Kelley more highly. She is everything you would want in a childminder and more.

Kelley has made a daunting experience of leaving my child so much easier! My toddler has a great time every week, has made some good friends. Kelley uses an app to update on all the need to knows, amount eaten, nappies sleep time etc and uploads photos of what my toddler has been up to. Kelley puts a lot of effort into activities done and often does trips to the park. I have moved out of Watford but decided to keep sending my toddler there as not sure I’d fine someone as good in my new area

I couldn’t recommend Kelley more. Our 2.5 year old has been in Kelleys care for 1.5 years now, and is absolutely thriving. Kelley was great from the offset, our initial settling period went well but we had a few tricky weeks later down the line and Kelley was very understanding and patient, going the extra mile, giving her time to adjust, soon after that she was loving her time there.
My daughter loves the little friends she’s made there and is constantly chatting about them, Kelley, her dogs and what they get up to. I’m always impressed with the range of activities and the trips out of the house they make.
Kelley is lovely and always happy to offer her advice and answer endless questions. The updates she sends are very helpful, especially in the early days they gave me peace of mind that my daughter was sleeping, eating, and generally happy.
Kelley always does her best to accommodate extra days / changes of schedules where possible, which we really appreciate.
We are so happy that we found Kelley, you can really see the care and attention she puts in to what she does. She’s a gem and our daughter loves her.

My two and a half year old daughter has been looked after by Kelley since she was ten months old and she has flourished.
From an educational perspective my daughter has learnt so much from being at the setting and grown in confidence. She was born during the Covid pandemic and I worried about her interaction with other children being lacking. She also had separation anxiety as well as a few blips in her behaviour. Kelley takes her to regular toddler groups and assisted me with her separation anxiety when she first started as well as her behavioural blips offering advice and strategies.
You know your child has a great time at a childcare provider when you drop them off at the door and they don’t even batter an eyelid or say goodbye as they’re too busy having fun and learning through play. She’s regularly coming home with new words, phrases and activities that she has done that day.
I enjoy the fact that I can instantly get updates on my daughters meals and what she has done throughout the day which I can view at anytime. Kelley is really personable and is always giving me advice and tips on my daughters development milestones such as potty training and meal planning. Her attention to detail is next to none and I like that she sets clear boundaries and expectations with my daughter to ensure that there is a clear continuation of the rules that I set at home.
What more can I say? FANTASTIC

My daughter Scarlett started with Kelley at age 15 months and she absolutely loves it, I was so worried about leaving her when I go to work, but Kelley reassured me so much that she will be fine, she done 2 settling days and after that she went in no problem, no tears, just a bye bye at the door! My daughter loves going there and I see she has so much fun, Kelley does lots of activities with the children, takes them to toddler classes which is great for them! Scarlett has learnt so much over the last 6 months with Kelley, and I can’t thank her enough! I truly recommend Kelley to you all!!

Our twin daughters started with Kelley when they were 15 months old. Being pandemic babies they struggled with separation anxiety at first but Kelley went above and beyond to help them settle in with her and sent regular updates initially to reassure us that they were always calm and happily playing shortly after leaving them. Within no time the tears at drop-off stopped and they were excited to go through the door each day. They’ve been going to her 3 days a week for over a year now and absolutely love it. They weren’t walking or talking when they started and now they run through the gate, knocking on the door over and over excited to get inside and play, and confidently tell me all about their day on the way home. Spending their day with other children of different ages has been fantastic for their social and communication development. I know they enjoy their days with Kelley and the other children she looks after, and we never have to worry for a second whether they’re okay. I love the reports and photos we get from each day too, being a twin mum keeping on top of routine and knowing how well they’ve ate or slept that day is really important to me - helps me prepare for whether one of them might need early bedtime for example. Kelley also has so much experience it’s great to be able to ask her opinion or for tips with how much they should be eating, when to be potty training, or dropping naps etc. She takes wonderful care of our girls, gives them a mix of her experiences, is flexible if we need to do an early drop off now and again, reasonable with her rates, and gives plenty of notice if she’s got to take a day off or taking a holiday (which doesn’t seem to be very often!) I’m so glad we found Kelley to look after our girls, and highly recommend her!

“Miss Kelley “ as my son called her with love, is the best childminder is town.
She helped us a lot been a second mother for my little boy while I was working.
She is a very positive person all the time and she is amazing with kids.
My son loved all the activities and learning there. He was so happy every morning going to Kelley’s house. 🙂
I would definitely recommend her to all parents looking for a trustful childminder and a happy place for the little ones.

Our 7 year old daughter joined Kelley's for after school care about a year and a half ago and is very happy there.
In the school year that she started, our daughter had been through a lot of change including moving to a new school, losing a close grandparent and then changing childminder after our previous one stopped working at very short notice, but Kelley was great at working with us to help with any of her anxiety.
The children all get on so well together and Kelley is brilliant at setting up activities that they can enjoy across a range of ages, especially the fab creative activities. The photos and updates we get from her are great and really give us an insight into the children's time there.
Our daughter is an only child and has often spent time with older kids among our family friends, but I definitely feel that being at Kelley's has given her a lovely experience of learning to play with younger children too.
Kelley is super reliable and has always been as flexible as possible around our requests to swap days from time to time if needed. The food is healthy, varied and has lots of child friendly options. I would absolutely recommend Kelley for after school care and hope we will be able to carry on using her until our daughter leaves primary school.

Kelley has been looking after my little man for almost 2 years, he settled in straight away and as enjoyed it ever since. Kelley as helped with his development, they do numerous activities indoor and out. I would highly recommend her.

I have had my 17 month old and my 5 year old with Kelley since February. Kelley is a wonderful childminder, she is attentive, fun, creative and a genuinely nice person. I feel complete ease with my children being with her. Kelley took my daughter at 8 months and helped with her separation anxiety and eating issues, Kelley also collects my son from school. My children will stay with her until it’s no longer needed.
Kelley genuinely seems to enjoy her job and the activities and crafts she does with the kids is amazing as well as keeping you updated daily as to what your child has done/eaten/slept. I feel lucky that we found Kelley when we did and couldn’t recommend her more.
