About Me

Welcome to Little Bears in the Wood childcare!

My name is Danielle and I'm 41 and I am a registered childminder with Ofsted
I have been registered for 8 years. I've been married for 10 years and we have a daughter who's 8 years old and son who's 5 years old. Both are in full time school.

One of the reasons why I became a childminder is because I could not bare the thought of leaving my daughter in a busy nursery environment when she was very young. I was faced with the same decision as you are now with looking for childcare. I provide a home from home environment with a home cooked meal everyday. I put all my questions and insecurities about childcare when I was searching myself into building (hopefully) a perfect childcare setting for your child.

We do exciting activities here that includes indoor and outdoor activities, mostly include nature play in the garden and the woods nearby and we attend weekly playgroups. We have a herb and (trying to grow) vegetable patch that the children and I look after and use to make our meals. The children love this and gets them excited about eating their meals and it teaches them about where food comes from.

I want the children I look after to not only feel comfortable and a part of the family but to have fun and be stimulated by the day to day activities.
I do this by working closely with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework (EYFS) I’ve recently completed a Diploma in Early years qualification.
I work with an online learning journey called 'Tapestry' which sends the patents updates on their development with pictures of the activities to your email. Parents love receiving these while in work to see what their little ones are up to!
