Michaela
Nanny in Chesterfield (also available for babysitting)
My Summary
About Me
I have over fifteen years of experience working as a nanny with children from birth up to 12 years old. Throughout my roles I’ve supported children with a range of needs, including egg allergies, milk intolerance and asthma, and I always prioritise safety, awareness and clear communication with parents.
I hold a full, clean driving licence and have my own car, so I’m more than happy to do school runs and take children to activities such as play centres, parks, picnics and days out. I enjoy creating fun, engaging experiences that support learning and development outside of the home.
I trained at Chesterfield College, gaining both Level 3 and Level 2 qualifications in Childcare and Education. Alongside my professional roles, being a parent myself has given me even more hands-on understanding, patience and confidence when caring for children.
I’m hardworking, polite, honest and reliable, with excellent timekeeping. I have a naturally happy and bubbly personality, and I love helping children learn new things, grow in confidence and reach their developmental milestones.
My Experience
August 2020 – Present (ongoing)
Caring for two children, one from birth and one from age two. This role involves full daily care, supporting routines, development, and providing a safe, nurturing environment. I work flexibly around the family’s needs and understand how important adaptability is within a household.
January 2017 – August 2020
Looked after two children from just three weeks old for a period of three years. I provided consistent, full-time care, supporting early development, routines and milestones from infancy, while remaining flexible to suit the family’s changing needs.
April 2012 – September 2017
Cared for four children aged five years, four years, two years and five months. This was a busy household where flexibility was essential, and I adapted daily to meet the needs of different ages, routines and activities while ensuring each child received individual attention.
February 2012 – April 2012
Part-time role caring for a 13-month-old girl, covering for a previous nanny. I quickly adapted to her daily routine to ensure continuity of care and to meet her individual needs.
January 2011 – December 2011
Provided full-time, sole care for two children aged two and four (they were one and three when I began). School pick-ups were included from January to April. I was responsible for all aspects of their care and adjusted my approach to fit the family’s routines and requirements.
I am very flexible and understand that every family is different, and I am happy to adapt my working hours, routines and approach to meet the needs of a new family and their children, ensuring a smooth and comfortable transition.
I have extensive experience preparing both hot and cold meals and managing dietary requirements, including egg allergies, milk intolerance and vegetarian diets.
Strong knowledge and confidence have been gained in supporting children with asthma. Caring for a child with severe asthma taught me how to recognise early warning signs of an attack and respond calmly and appropriately.
With the children we would go on adventures to soft play centres, parks, playgroups and a variety of weekly activities to encourage social development and learning in all areas. I plan all of this to suit each individual child’s needs and what they enjoy.
Children are given access to a wide range of toys and activities each day to keep them engaged. Imaginative play is actively encouraged, often creating new games together using the children’s own ideas and creativity

Michaela was our Nanny from September 2016 to our 10yr old son and our 6 month old daughter.
Initially I was anxious of employing a Nanny, but Michaela was very friendly, and welcoming. We had a first meeting and the kids welcomed Michaela.
She became very flexible in hours and would start the day in our family home sorting breakfasts and helping with daily chores.
Michaela was a god send in our working family as she took on the household laundry for the kids, she cooked and cleaned for them and took the youngest out to baby sensory. She spend the day with our youngest reading and playing.
She was very thorough in everything she did and we were very grateful for her. The kids were very happy with Michaela.
We were all sad to say goodbye Michaela and the only reason we parted ways as I gave up my job to be a full time mum.

Michaela has looked after our 4 children since April 2012. They are now 10,8,6 and 4 years. Our youngest will be starting school in September so we no longer need childcare. They will all miss her!
Michaela supervises the children’s reading and homework from school and also attends the school plays and meetings that occur at the end of term time. She also drives the children between lessons of swimming / cubs / beavers / dancing.
Michaela is structured and decisive and ensures that the family values are respected by all of the children and followed through on a daily basis. Michaela keeps a dairy of the events of each day and will follow instructions as necessary.
Michaela is very approachable and will discuss children’s behaviour openly; she can quickly build a relationship with the parents and children which helps develop a mutual trust and understanding.
Michaela has been an integral part of our family and her commitment and drive has ensured that my wife and I have maintained our working and social lives. Michaela is punctual and reliable and over the four years that she has worked with us she has never called in sick.
Michaela will be an asset to any family that she works with; her personal / professional approach will ensure that the children are happy and that the parents are comfortable knowing that they can leave for work and return with their children in safe hands.

Michaela worked for us in a temporary post as a part-time nanny from February 2nd – March 29th 2012. We have been very happy with Michaela and the quality of childcare she has provided for our 15 month old daughter. It has been a pleasure to have her as an employee and we would not hesitate to recommend her to any prospective parent wishing to employ her.
Michaela helped us out at a very difficult time when we needed urgent childcare due to our daughter’s nanny suddenly falling ill. She was extremely flexible and started work immediately, quickly adapting to our routine. She made every effort to ensure that our daughter was not overly distressed by the sudden change in her childcare. From the outset Michaela made clear that she would be taking up a permanent position in April, and so the arrangement was for a temporary appointment to help us out while we sought a more permanent solution.
She is extremely reliable and has excellent time keeping. She has been honest and trustworthy, to the best of our knowledge, and has been extremely respectful in our home. For example, she has always asked questions about how we would like to have things done, and has always kept the toys and kitchen tidy after preparing meaIs for our daughter. Indeed, she has acted on her own initiative to tidy by, for example, emptying the bins or the washing machine, as the need arises.
Michaela has been very attentive to our daughters needs and was keen to learn about and implement our daughter’s individual routine, as opposed to coming with pre-conceived ideas from working with other toddlers. She has been consistent in providing healthy snacks, and has established a clear routine, where appropriate; for example she always prepares tea at the same time. She has encouraged an appropriate level of physical activity. Michaela is keen to promote physical and outdoor activities that have helped our daughter develop her gross motor skills. She has taken our daughter out on many occasions, for walks in the buggy, on her smart-trike, to parks, and farms etc.
She has also been very competent at managing minor illnesses including fever, teething and colds.
Michaela is a very calm but warm and affectionate person; we have often come home to find her sitting with our daughter on her knee, reading books or playing, or carrying her on her hip and showing her things in the kitchen as she prepares tea. Our daughter has grown very fond of Michaela and it is a source of great reassurance to us that she has been able to develop a trusting relationship and positive attachment to Michaela in a relatively short space of time.
In short, it has been a pleasure to have Michaela work for us and we would not hesitate to recommend her to any prospective parent wishing to employ her.

Michaela has been taking care of our children for the last year and she has done a wonderful job, especially with the youngest one that had serious separation anxiety issues. She is very calm, organised and always happy and positive with the children. She is very flexible with Times/availability and has always done her best to help us when needing childcare. She is very hard-working and never taking time off. Our kids love her and talk about her all the time :) She is always engaging the children in arts and craft activities and in various games and she is very tidy; she is also of great help around the house and with nursery duties. She also takes care of the school run and regularly takes the children for outings at playgroups, library, parks etc. Unfortunately my working patterns have changed at the same time my youngest is near pre-school age so we will not be able to keep Michaela with us after December but we would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone needing childcare. Feel free to get in touch should you need further references.
