Emmie has looked after both my children - both full time from about 10 months old, to the after school and holiday care she does now. It's quite difficult to put into words the impact she has had on our lives because it wouldn't do her justice. She is quite simply the ideal person to care for children - she wants them to enjoy the time they spend with her, but equally she ensures they have clear routine and structure. She complements her own skill set by engaging with other childminding groups and activities (e.g. music groups, mucky pups) in order that the children can experience a wide range of activities. In holiday time she plans a wide array of activities to entertain the children (almost like a one woman holiday club) - from educational days out to fun excursions, as well as general day to day activities and projects (e.g. watching caterpillars turn into butterflies). After school she ensures the children take time to do their home work before they take on different activities or play with the wide range of toys and games she has in her house - both inside and out in the garden. She helps the children learn about different holidays, festivals and events through themed days e.g. Chinese new year she cooked them chinese food and they discussed which animal they were born under and at Christmas she had the children spellbound with the help of 2 visiting elves who had a new surprise every day of December.
The group of children she looks after currently, all love being there and interacting with each other regardless of age and gender - and that credit goes not only to Emmie but to her family too who are all actively engaged with the children. Its quite simply a fun filled, safe, caring environment and I wouldn't place my children anywhere else (nor would they let me!)
