Sammy
Childminder in Knowsley
My Summary
About Me
My name is Sammy and I am 50 years old and I am a fully Qualified
Nursery nurse and OFSTED registered childminder. After years of experience of working with children and bringing up my own children I decided I wanted to become a child minder from home. I have 3 children, we live in a 5 bedroom House with a large spacious secure back garden. We live close to all amenities.
As a mum myself I know how important it is for you to feel your child is being looked after in a safe, caring and loving environment. I enjoy looking after children and supporting parents in their child's learning and development. I offer a healthy nutritious healthy menu and will also cater for any special dietary requirements.
I love creating a fun and learning environment for children and enjoy creative play and outdoor activities. I also love children to engage in messy play such as Play dough, paint, gloop and mark making. The children can also engage in many other activities such as sand and water play, story time and song time. We have a large wooden playhouse where the children can choose what they want to do and play.
We attend sure start playgroups and other groups in our local area. I like to take the children on days out to Martin Mere, Knowsley Safari Park as I have memberships. I use the local parks, library, museums and any other close amenities that are of value to us. We love going to the local farm that is run by local young people with disabilities and volunteers it's a fun place for all the children to get involved and learn.
I take the children to our own allotment plot from spring through to winter where we plant our own fruit and vegetables. This gives the children an open space to learn and grow their own crops to take home to their own families to share. They thoroughly enjoy this and last year we grew various vegetables from snap peas to broccoli. The children love to plant their own seeds and label the pots in the greenhouse so they can watch their own seedlings grow.

I am also a member of the NCMA.

Zola has been attending Sammy house now since September 2025. She had recently been to a nursery and I had taken her out for many reasons and was recommended by a friend to try Sammy. The second I made contact with her I knew instantly the type of person she was. Then when we met her at her house, she welcomed us like she had known us forever. I felt an instant relief to know Zola was going to be looked after by this woman.
She’s all a mother could ask for when finding someone to care for your child. She loves her like her own and Zola gives her hugs each and everyone we arrive at her house. She picks her up on days if I’m struggelimh and Zola hasn’t woke up intime for drop ofs. She’s flexible with drop offs and nothing is ever to much if we ask,
From a learning perspective, she takes her to the allotment and teachers her all about plants and animals. Zola brings home strawberry’s she has grew herself and is so proud and tells me her and Sammy Gammy has made these haha!
She recently bought catapillas and taught all the children about the life cycle of a butterfly, she’s now moved on to tadpoles. Zola loves it!
She takes them to the library and parks, she does arts and crafts and messy play and Zola tells me about her day each time she comes home. She has come on so much since going to Sammys and we are very lucky our friend recommended her. Thank you Sammy for being a big part in Zolas life. We are so lucky to have you

Sammy is great, my two boys have been with her the past 2 years. I am so happy we found her, my both boys love her so much. She provides exceptional service ensuring both boys are thriving in every way possible. Anything we are working on at home Sammy will always ensure she helps out too. Will be gutted when my youngest starts nursery in September. Not only is Sammy great support for my children but also for me too!! Always giving the best advice. Thank you Sammy! Xx

Sammy has honestly been amazing for our family. She treats the kids like they’re her own and makes them feel so loved and cared for. She’s become more than just a childminder to us, she’s a friend. My kids absolutely love being with her, and I always know they’re happy and safe. When it came to choosing childcare for my second child, there was never any doubt – I knew I wanted her to be with Sammy too. I wouldn’t send my children anywhere else. Thank you for everything Sammy 💙🩷
