About Me
My name is Sammy and I am 49 years old and I am a fully Qualified
Nursery nurse and OFSTED registered childminder. After years of experience of working with children and bringing up my own children I decided I wanted to become a child minder from home. I have 3 children aged 19, 16 and 10 years. We live in a 4 bedroom House with a large spacious secure back garden. We live in Kirkby close to all amenities.
As a mum myself I know how important it is for you to feel your child is being looked after in a safe, caring and loving environment. I enjoy looking after children and supporting parents in their child's learning and development. I offer a healthy nutritious healthy menu and will also cater for any special dietary requirements.
I love creating a fun and learning environment for children and enjoy creative play and outdoor activities. I also love children to engage in messy play such as Play dough, paint, gloop and mark making. The children can also engage in many other activities such as sand and water play, story time and song time. We have a large wooden playhouse where the children can choose what they want to do and play.
We attend sure start playgroups and other groups in our local area. I like to take the children on days out to Martin Mere, Chester Zoo and Knowsley Safari Park as I have memberships. I use the local parks, library, museums and any other close amenities that are of value to us. We love going to the local farm that is run by local young people with disabilities and volunteers it's a fun place for all the children to get involved and learn.
I take the children to our own allotment plot from spring through to winter where we plant our own fruit and vegetables. This gives the children an open space to learn and grow their own crops to take home to their own families to share. They thoroughly enjoy this and last year we grew various vegetables from snap peas to broccoli. The children love to plant their own seeds and label the pots in the greenhouse so they can watch their own seedlings grow.
I am a member of Pacey and have public liability insurance.
I am also a member of the NCMA.
I have ICO insurance for Data Protection.
Full clean driving licence.
Ofsted inspected December 2022 outcome- Good - report on line.
Also available Free Nursery education funded places age 2, 3, and 4 year olds.
(criteria needs to be met for a free place for 2 year olds)
September 2017 3 and 4 year old free 30 hours (term time only) contact your Local Authority.

My Experience
I have worked with children since the age of 17 whilst training to become a NNEB nursery nurse. I have gained valuable experience over the years working with children of different ages and children with additional needs.

Words cannot describe how grateful we are to have had Sam in ours and our daughters life to help develop her into the happy, kind and confident girl she is! Connie joined Sam a very shy 1 year old with attachment issues and separation anxiety. Dropping her off in the morning... there was always tears from the both of us! But Sam was so patient, caring and loving towards her from day 1 Connie soon settled. Sam kept us constantly updated in regards to day time activities, her healthy meals and water intake mile stones and sent lovely photos through to show how much fun Connie was having which helped put our mind at ease - Sam always communicated with us and constantly kept us in the loop - Her home is a happy, family home and immaculate! Connie was always coming home happy and full of smiles. Sam helped us so much not just professionally but on a personal level to when my Mum had a stroke, she would go above and beyond to help us, changing drop off and pick up times to try to accommodate hospital visits etc. Connie has now started school and is excelling in her phonics, language and letter/number formation. I can honestly say that if it wasn't for Connie being with Sam full time and all the care and attention that she showed Con emotionally but also through educational activities and play, I don't think she would be as doing as well as she is at the moment. Her confidence since starting with Sam has grown so much and she is a happy, healthy confident little girl due to her amazing start with Sam. Sammy looked after our little boy myles from when he was 7 weeks old till he turned 4 and left her for school. Sammy has always been professional, approachable and I know she’s looked after him as if he where one of her own ♥️

All I can say is Sammy is amazing! Her home is like a second home for my son and we love her. My little boy was born during the height of lock down so we were very worried about leaving him etc.. as he had not met many people especially children. Sammy was amazing and put our minds at ease straight away, she allowed our little one to come in for a few hours every day so he was used to her and the children. Since he started he has come on leaps and bounds. He is now talking, playing and sharing. This is down to Sammy and her amazing skills with children. She is an absolute god send. She treats the kids like they are her own. We would not want him with anyone else! Thank you Sammy :) xx

Sammy regularly had my son (7) and my daughter (5) and she is absolutely brilliant with them. They do all sorts indoors and out and the kids just love it. Honestly if your looking for a local child minder then Sammy is your woman.

My son Benjamin age 3 has been with Sammy for over a year now. We as a family love how amazing Sammy is with Benjamin. We were so worried at first deciding on a childminder over a nursery, but as soon as we meet Sammy at her house our worries went away within seconds with how welcoming she and her family were and how clean her home is and Sammy is so well organised. Sammy was recommended to us by a mutual friend .
She is amazing with our son who loves his time at Sammy's and will even ask on weekends to see his Sammy. He has formed a brilliant relationship with Sammy and her family. Benjamin's farvourite part is the trips to the allotment he has brought many plants and veg home that he and the other children have grown. The communication and updates is great especially the pictures of what the children have done I love seeing pictures of the activities Benjamin has taken part in. Best of all is listening to Benjamin the pure happyness in his voice when he is telling us about his day with Sammy.
We would be lost without Sammy she is like wonder woman.
