I live with my husband, three children and 2 tiny dogs. near the Walmer area of Deal in a four bed detached home in a quiet cul-de-sac. I provide a professionally run childminding service in a home from home setting with a family environment, we have a fantastic dedicated play room, large living room, dining room and a child friendly garden for use by the children. I offer a stimulating and friendly environment for children of all ages.
We like to visit local parks, library, castles, sea front, parent & toddler groups, music group, toddler gym, play centres and events. A range of fun educational toys and equipment are available for children of all ages providing opportunities for arts and crafts, reading, messy play, imaginative play, role play, outdoor play and more!
I am registered with OFSTED as a childminder and homecarer (nanny). I am an approved member of Kent Quality Assured Childminder Scheme, meeting the standards of the Quality Childminding Charter. I am also an Accredited Member of the scheme allowing me to provide 15/30hrs of funded nursery education for children from the first term after they turn 9 months if eligible
I hold an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure, as does my husband and have liability and car insurance (including business use for childminding).
Working in partnership with parents is extremely important to the children, parents and myself, I am therefore always happy to answer any questions and provide as much information as possible about my services and your child when in my setting. Along with providing daily feedback I take regular photos of our activities so parents can see for themselves the fun we have.
My Experience
Before becoming a childminder in 2005, I spent 5yrs working as a full time sole charge nanny and many an evening babysitting! I have also undertaken work experience whilst studying for my BTEC National Diploma.
I am of course the proud mother of 3 gorgeous children who have given me many many hours of hands on experience!
My Qualifications
I hold a range of relevant qualifications including-
- BTEC National Diploma in Early Childhood Studies (Level 3 Nursery Nursing)
- Introducing Childminding Practice course (ICP)
- Paediatric First Aid (renewed every 3yrs)
- Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) training
- Child protection training
Certificates are available to be viewed during visits.
I like to keep upto date with workshops, short courses and webinars.

My Fees
- Childminding from £8.15 per hour
Open Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays. 8am-4pm.
£65 per day, 8am-4pm.
All outings, snacks and drinks are provided free of charge.
15/30hr funded nursery education can be provided for children from the first term after they turn 9 months if eligible.
I am also able to accept employer and Tax free childcare vouchers which can save you up to 30% fees.

I would highly recommend Sharon for childminding. My daughter was looked after by Sharon from the age of one until she went to primary school. She absolutely loved her time there and was extremely well looked after in a safe and stimulating environment. Sharon always has lots of engaging activities set up for the children, and regularly takes them out for fun filled mornings. The time my daughter spent with Sharon prepared her so well for her transition to primary school in September. Sharon really does go above and beyond for the children in her care and I feel very lucky that my daughter has had a childminding space here.

Sharon was friendly and professional and excellent with my children. I felt as comfortable going out as I do when they are with their grandparents. Couldn’t recommend more.

Sharon provided the perfect setting for my daughter’s first childcare experience when we moved to Deal two years ago. She was only 9 months old at the time and we didn’t know anyone in the area but I was instantly put at ease and had complete trust in leaving her with Sharon. By the second visit my daughter was already very comfortable and happy to see her, she never once got upset at me leaving her. Sharon is a natural, calming and caring influence and highly experienced in her field. She has extremely high standards in everything she does, particularly when it comes to safety, so I always felt assured on the various little outings she often took the small group on. Sharon provides lots of fun learning and developing activities for the children in her lovely newly refurbished setting and my daughter came on leaps and bounds under her care. She made some lovely first friendships with the others in her group due to them playing so closely together. I honestly couldn’t have asked for more and we were so upset to have to leave which was only due to new logistical problems from our side and starting nursery. My little girl still talks about Sharon regularly and remembers all sorts of lovely things from her time there. Thank you Sharon, you’re brilliant at what you do!
