My Summary
About Me
We have a wonderful 3 acre small holding with chickens, ducks, tortoise, orchard, childrens vegetable garden and a lovely sea view down a private road.
I provide a flexible and affordable 'home from home' environment. We have a designated playroom room with lots of different areas such as roll play, cosy corner, mini kitchen area, small world, train track, arts & crafts etc.
Children progress their learning through play. We have an outdoor play area with wonderful grounds in excess of 3 acres where the children are able to explore the many different ferns and trees within our mini forest area. We are able to take the classroom outside where learning is then carried out and children have a better understanding of the world around them where they are inspired.
Children are able to collect the eggs from the chickens, feed the ducks, feed 'David' the resident tortoise, pick fruit or just nurture their own designated vegetable patch. Children can then if they wish sell their eggs they have collected which encourages mathematical development as they take the money for the eggs (which of course goes towards chicken feed)
Children's learning and development
Children's learning is closely monitored by our staff using a designated Early Years App. Children's Development, Observations, Progress Reports, Register, Nappy Changes, photographs etc are all uploaded onto the App where parents are able to access this app and see what their child has done for the day and monitor their progress. This can also be used as a two way link so you can let us know if anything exciting happened at the weekend which then enables us to follow through with an activity or event. We hold parents evenings to discuss your child's development along with other events such as sports day, school leavers day and other festive events.
Safeguarding
All staff are DBS (CRB ) checked by Ofsted. Our CCTV ensures that safeguarding is met to a high standard. We have cameras in the playroom, parking area, private lane, cloakroom in fact pretty much everywhere. We are located down a small private lane which is not open to the public with wonderful sea views, so no noisy lorries or fast cars speeding past.
We have an open door policy with everything to show and nothing to hide.
We can accommodate flexible hours, term time only, holiday only or full day care. We care for children from 6 months to 9 years. .
I am able to take pre-school funded sessions for 2, 3 and 4 year old's.
My Experience
I have been a childare provider for over 12 years with more than 30 qualifications.
I pride myself on my continous professional development which in turn benefits both the children and parents.
I have specific experience with children who have special needs and am a fully qualified SENCo. I can offer Makaton and British Sign Language as well as having access for one wheelchair user in our bus.
I am pleased to have won an award for Childminder of the Year and also Chamber of Commerce Highly Commended in Customer Service.
