My Experience

I was hired as a Trainee Nursery assistant completing an apprenticeship course whilst working in the setting and within a year I completed my course and I became a qualified Nursery nurse and progressed to a room leader in charge of a small team of individuals.
- As Room Leader I provided care for children and assisted in many aspects of their daily lives, through social, emotional and practical interaction, nurturing and guidance.
- Helping to oversee, maintain and organise a clean and tidy environment.
- Along with my team I supervised activities, such as messy play, crafts,
cooking, reading and outdoor/physical pursuits.
- To provide an environment where children are cared for in a safe, caring and stimulating way.
- To ensure the EYFS is promoted in the setting and its principles are adhered to.

I was promoted to Deputy Manager, which became a dual role as I remained a Room leader.
- As Deputy Manager of the Nursery my main responsibilities were to assist the Manager in the day to day tasks, staffing, organisation and smooth running of the Nursery.
- To deputise for the manager in her absence.
- To manage and deploy the staff in the Nursery and to ensure that a high standard of care is provided at all times.
- To ensure that all staff received adequate training and development as required.
- To ensure implementation and review of agreed operational policies and procedures and to ensure that all legal and registration requirements are met.
- To ensure that there is effective communication maintained at all times between the staff and parents of children attending the Nursery and that any complaints are dealt with in accordance with Ofsted and College procedures.

• Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
• Nannying from £20.00 per hour (gross)
