My Summary
About Me
Hi families,
I’m Jennifer – a qualified Maternity Nurse, Baby Sleep Consultant, Doula, Night Nanny, and career Nanny. For more than 25 years, I’ve had the joy of helping parents find calm, confidence, and most importantly… sleep, during those often overwhelming first months with a newborn.
I’ve lived in with families in over 60 countries, supporting them through every kind of situation – different parenting styles, family dynamics, cultural traditions, and of course, babies with their own unique needs, personalities, and health concerns. I’ve cared for thousands of little ones, including over 50 sets of twins and two sets of triplets. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learnt is that there’s no “one-size-fits-all” when it comes to babies. Every baby is different, and every family is different too. That’s why my approach is always gentle, practical, and flexible – designed to work for your family.
I also know first-hand how exhausting it is when your baby isn’t sleeping well. The good news is, there is a science behind helping newborns sleep longer stretches. And after ten's of thousands of nights spent with babies, I’ve developed nurturing, hands-on ways to gently guide them into healthy sleep and feeding rhythms right from the start (yes, 10 hours overnight is possible from the beginning - with night feeds of course!)
I believe that when a baby’s needs are met – enough sleep, good nourishment, and plenty of love – they are calmer, happier, and thrive. And when your baby thrives, family life feels lighter, more joyful, and far less stressful. It means you can enjoy those precious early weeks and months, instead of just surviving them.
Whether it’s helping you set up a routine, showing you little tricks to make baby care easier, keeping things organised at home, or even travelling alongside your family, I bring a calm, reassuring presence. I’ve also worked with many high-profile and very busy households, so I’m experienced at working alongside other staff and supporting older siblings as they adjust to life with a new baby.
Qualifications
** Maternity Nurse – MNT College, Reading University, London.
** Birthing and Postnatal Doula Diploma – Australian Doula College.
** Maternity and Child Sleep Consultant Diploma – IMI Maternity Institute.
** And while these formal qualifications are valuable, nothing compares to the hands-on experience I’ve gained by living in with families 24/7. If I were to add up all the time spent supporting parents and caring for newborns day and night, it would total well over 100,000 hours of real-life, practical experience.
If you’re looking for someone who brings not only years of experience but also warmth, empathy, and reassurance, I’d love to support you and your baby through this special (and sometimes challenging!) stage.
