About Me
I am a caring, responsible, and energetic nanny with 28 years of life experience and several years of professional childcare experience. I have had the privilege of working with diverse families, caring for children ranging from babies to older children. I am passionate about supporting children’s growth and development in a safe, nurturing environment. My approach to childcare emphasises creating fun, engaging, and educational activities, while maintaining a structured routine that meets both the child’s and family’s needs. My philosophy is rooted in therapeutic parenting and child-led approaches, inspired by Montessori principles.
My Experience
• I have cared for multiple children on a 1:1 basis throughout my professional career, including working as the sole carer for children with complex needs and using feeding tubes. As well as babysitting large siblings groups of a mix of ages.
• Experience as an employed Play Worker in London for a varied age range of children.
• I've additionally provied support to adults with learning difficulties through care work.
• I qualified as a Social Worker in 2020 and remain a registered professional with Social Work England. During my time in this role, I specialised in Statutory Child Protection in a council, working with highly complex situations such as domestic abuse, mental health issues, homelessness, poverty, hoarding, and substance misuse.
• My Social Work experience means I can provide parents with peace of mind knowing I'm highly skilled in addressing any potential risks to children's safety and wellbeing.
• I was most recently employed as a Family Support Keyworker for the council, in which I provided preventative and holistic support to vulnerable families, working to prevent escalation to child protection concerns. In this role, I was praised for my non-judgmental, calm, and emotionally intelligent approach.
• I have developed extensive knowledge of child development, trauma, and mental health difficulties through both my training and real-world experience, including a comprehensive understanding of Neurodivergence (ADHD, Autism and PDA). My experience extends to working with Neurodivergent children, as well as having closely grown up with an Autistic family member.
• Parent to a 15 month old myself.
My Qualifications
• Social Work BA, currently registered with Social Work England.
• I have recieved professional training around: Trauma in children, Neurodivergence (including PDA), Domestic Abuse, Child Exploitation and Child Sexual Exploitation, Child Trafficking, Radicalisaion, various Child Safeguarding training, Therapeutic Parenting Support, Suicide Awareness and Mental Health difficulties amongst more.
• Five to Thrive training.
• Youth Mental Health First Aid trained.
