About Me
We are a happy family of 5 who live in a lovely spacious house in Penylan in Cardiff. Our daughter is 12 years old and our sons are 9 and 6 years old. We are a loving, warm and supportive family, and grandparents are also very hands-on and involved.
My Requirements
Our daughter has autism and is a lovely, happy, energetic, hard-working and vibrant 12 year old. She has just started in Year 7 in a new school in Cardiff and is loving it. She enjoys lots of activities outside school including trampolining, music lessons etc however for some of the more mainstream activities, she needs a 1:1 to support her. We are looking for someone to accompany her to Guides in Cyncoed in Cardiff every Thursday evening from 7-9pm, starting in Jan 2024. We would be happy to provide lifts there and back and pay would start from £15/hour but is negotiable depending on experience and qualifications.
The right person needs to be confident, caring, happy to get stuck in and be creative in thinking of ways in which our daughter can access the activities in Guides. Occasionally they made need to accompany her on Guide trips e.g. swimming. They need to be a great communicator between our daughter, the other Guides, the Guide leaders and us parents. Experience in working with children with additional needs is desirable but not at all essential.
Above all, we are looking for someone full of fun, reliable, trustworthy, kind and caring.
If the role worked out well, we envisage that there would be other opportunities to work with our daughter in the community or with our family as a whole (including our 2 sons) such as baby-sitting opportunities.
