About Me
I am a woman with 1 child, and a partner, we all live together in my house. Our child is 11. Attends school full time and is in secondary school. We have 1 pet cat. My partner and myself work full time doing shift work, him in a pub, and me in a retail shop.
Our son has diagnosed ADHD, and we suspect is on the autistic spectrum due to changes in sensitivity to noise, taste and texture of food, and the way some clothes feel.
I'm curious as to what childcare is out there for evenings on an adhoc basis, as we do not need set days every week, its only a couple of hours here and hour there after school.
However now due to the unreliability of family, and the friends who had previously helped but now have new jobs/commitments of their own we will be asking for weekend and school holiday help.
My Requirements
I am looking for someone who would be able to care for my son on the days that my partners shifts and mine clash for a couple of hours after school. We try to utilize friends and family for weekend/holiday cover, as mentioned above this has recently changed.
I would like our childcare provider to be able to preferably watch our son at home when he gets home from school, he will walk home from the top of the hill which is the William Howard school bus drop off. Or collect him from his few chosen afterschool clubs.
Most days where help is required, I will finish work at 6 or 6.30 meaning at the latest I won't be back in Carlisle until a little before 7pm.. You do not need to feed him dinner unless you want to, a snack will suffice until I get back from work. However you will need to start him on his homework from 5pm, this allows him a small amount of time to chill after he gets in, you will need to low key supervise, as he will try to get out of it, and is insanely forgetful so requires prompting, but once he is sat at the table to a task he's usually ok.
Due to my shifts you must be able to transport yourself to our house, or be able to collect Lucas from school. We sometimes arrange pickups from Ste's pub on non school days as it is in the town centre so if you need to run errands, or want to take Lucas to a coffee shop etc then it is easier for you.
