About Me

Wedding childcare often involves caring for children in unfamiliar and highly stimulating environments while helping families enjoy the important moments of their day. I work closely with parents to balance their child’s usual routine and individual needs with the wedding schedule, adapting naps, feeds, meals and activities where appropriate while remaining responsive to the child.

This can include helping children prepare for and take part in photographs and the ceremony, providing activities and entertainment throughout the day, supporting babies and young children to rest away from the celebrations, and providing evening or bedtime care.

This experience has strengthened my ability to quickly build trusting relationships with children and families, anticipate their needs and remain calm, flexible and reassuring when plans inevitably change.

My Experience

Since 2023, I have worked as a private nanny with some truly wonderful families, with much of my experience centred around babies, toddlers and young children. I have supported families with their children’s individual routines, development and changing needs, while providing a safe, nurturing and engaging environment.

My nannying days are varied and child-led, and I enjoy planning activities and outings around each child’s age, interests and stage of development. Our days have included baby and toddler groups, zoo and farm trips, library visits, garden picnics, messy and sensory play, muddy puddle adventures, baking and plenty of well-loved stories. I am equally happy providing quieter care at home and understand the importance of maintaining familiar routines, particularly for babies and younger children.

I have worked with the award-winning The Wedding Nanny for over 18 months and continue to work with them on an occasional basis, providing specialist wedding childcare predominantly for babies, infants and young children at venues across the UK.

Wedding childcare requires a particularly flexible and responsive approach, especially when caring for babies and infants who may be away from their usual home environment and routine. I work closely with parents to understand their child’s individual needs and usual schedule, balancing naps, feeds, meals and rest with the important moments of the wedding day.

This can involve caring for a baby while parents prepare for the ceremony, supporting them during photographs and celebrations, providing quiet time and age-appropriate play away from busy areas, settling them for naps and providing evening and bedtime care. Where appropriate, I can gently adapt the day’s routine around the wedding schedule while always remaining responsive to the child’s cues and needs.

This experience has strengthened my ability to quickly build trusting relationships with babies, young children and their families, confidently care for children I have only recently met, recognise their individual cues and remain calm, flexible and reassuring in unfamiliar and highly stimulating environments.

Previously, I worked as a Nursery Room Leader in an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ nursery, where I supervised staff, planned and delivered engaging activities and supported children’s learning, development and wellbeing.

My international childcare experience includes working as a Crèche Supervisor in Rhodes, caring for children aged 3 months to 4 years. I organised and supervised safe and stimulating activities, planned children’s menus and accompanied children on activities including beach trips and swimming sessions. I also supported the children’s club when required.

I have experience supporting children with a range of additional needs, including autism, Down syndrome and hearing impairment, both within early years settings and through respite care. I understand the importance of adapting my approach to each individual child and working closely with their family to provide consistent and inclusive care.

I also studied Occupational Therapy for two years at the University of Derby and hold a Certificate of Higher Education in Allied Health Studies. This developed my understanding of child development, the importance of play and how activities and environments can be adapted to meet different needs and abilities, helping every child feel included, supported and confident.

We trust Ross implicitly, and feel so lucky to have found her. She baby sits our 17month old daughter once a week, and is extremely reliable. Ross has baby sat for us on a weekly basis for nearly a year now, in addition to some adhoc baby sitting requests. Our daughter loves spending time with Ross, and is very comfortable in her company. Ross is kind and caring, and has a wonderful nature which makes playtime before bed a special time for our daughter. As a young family without immediate family local to us, we are grateful for the service Ross offers and could not recommend her enough to other families.

Our baby Owen absolutely loves Ross. She is an excellent nanny, both for our child and for us as parents.

Ross is kind, patient, and playful with Owen. And from the parent perspective, she is reliable, communicates really well, and is very efficient with all the admin side of things. Ross constantly thinks of fun and creative activities to keep Owen happy & stimulated, and takes him to all kinds of fun baby groups and activities.

We've worked with Ross for 6 months, four days a week, every week since Owen was 8 months old. He's now 14 months old and is so happy, confident and meeting every milestone easily. We could not be happier with Ross, our experience with her has been brilliant. He laughs so much with her and is always delighted to see her. Honestly she's a life saver!

I'm really happy to chat to anyone who's considering working with Ross if you want more info or ask any questions. Please let Ross know and she can put us in touch.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. It’s been such a privilege taking care of Owen, and watching him grow into the cheeky, lovely and very funny little boy he is!

Ross had been amazing with our children and they love her so much! She has been an incredible addition to our family and made our lives so much easier when it comes to childcare. Our son had some additional needs and Ross has never been phased by him and knows exacly how to help him when needed.

Thank you so much the kids cant wait to see you for the new term!
