Nanny in Kiveton Park (also available for babysitting)
My Summary
About Me
Hi, my name is Ross.
I am a passionate childcare professional with over six years’ experience, working with children from birth to pre-teen. I pride myself on creating safe, nurturing, and stimulating environments, and I have strong experience in early years education, nannying, SEND support, and remaining calm and reassuring in busy or unpredictable moments.
I have experience in both UK and international childcare and am fully DBS checked, Paediatric First Aid trained, and Safeguarding Level 3 trained. I hold a Level 3 Diploma in Childcare (AAA), a Food Hygiene Certificate, and a Level 3 Post-Natal Care / Maternity Nurse qualification, which has strengthened my knowledge of newborn care, infant feeding, sleep, and supporting families during the early post-natal period.
I am currently working as a Family Hub Co-ordinator, where I design and lead community groups, support parents, and coordinate programmes such as infant feeding and sleep support. I am thoroughly enjoying this role and, while my availability is limited, I do have some space for nannying and babysitting, so please do enquire.
I believe children learn best through play, exploration, and real-life experiences. I always aim to ensure there is fun in every activity while making sure children feel safe and secure. This might include bear hunts in the woods, painting in the park, library visits, or closer-to-home activities such as making pizzas for lunch, reading stories, and creative play.
I enjoy working with families who value an active, outdoorsy approach to childcare. Trips to the park, baby groups, and local outings are important for helping children build confidence, curiosity, and the foundations for happy, healthy development.
Families often describe my presence as calm, reliable, and reassuring, and I aim to bring a steady, positive energy into every home I work in.
Outside of work, I enjoy reading, travelling, and spending time with friends and family.

My Experience
I hold a CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and am a Level 3 Post-Natal Care Specialist / Maternity Nurse.
I have extensive experience in UK and international childcare and am fully DBS checked, Paediatric First Aid certified, and Safeguarding Level 3 trained.
I am currently working as a Family Hub Co-ordinator at a newly opened Family Hub. Alongside this role, I have limited availability for nannying and babysitting.
For the past three years, I have worked as a nanny with some truly wonderful families. Our days have been filled with zoo trips, library visits, backyard picnics, muddy puddle adventures, sleepy snuggles, and plenty of well-loved Julia Donaldson stories.
I have also worked with the award-winning The Wedding Nanny, spending 18 months supporting families on their wedding days across a range of beautiful venues in the UK. During my time with the team, The Wedding Nanny received a Highly Commended award at the Wedding Industry Awards and has been featured in Derbyshire Times, which I was proud to be part of. This experience played a key role in my professional growth and strengthened my ability to remain calm, flexible, and supportive in busy, high-pressure environments.
Previously, I worked as a Nursery Room Leader in an OFSTED ‘Outstanding’ nursery, where I supervised staff, planned engaging activities, and ensured all children in my care were happy and thriving.
I have experience working as a Crèche Supervisor in Rhodes, caring for aswell organising and overseeing safe and stimulating activities and menus for children aged 3 months to 4 years including beach trips and swimming sessions and assisting in the children’s club when required. References are available.
I have supported children with a range of additional needs, including Autism, Down Syndrome, and hearing impairment, both within nursery settings and as a respite carer.
I studied for two years as an Occupational Therapy student at the University of Derby and hold a Certificate of Higher Education in Allied Health Studies. This has given me a strong understanding of the importance of play and how to adapt activities to suit different needs and abilities, ensuring every child feels included, supported, and confident.

We trust Ross implicitly, and feel so lucky to have found her. She baby sits our 17month old daughter once a week, and is extremely reliable. Ross has baby sat for us on a weekly basis for nearly a year now, in addition to some adhoc baby sitting requests. Our daughter loves spending time with Ross, and is very comfortable in her company. Ross is kind and caring, and has a wonderful nature which makes playtime before bed a special time for our daughter. As a young family without immediate family local to us, we are grateful for the service Ross offers and could not recommend her enough to other families.

Our baby Owen absolutely loves Ross. She is an excellent nanny, both for our child and for us as parents.
Ross is kind, patient, and playful with Owen. And from the parent perspective, she is reliable, communicates really well, and is very efficient with all the admin side of things. Ross constantly thinks of fun and creative activities to keep Owen happy & stimulated, and takes him to all kinds of fun baby groups and activities.
We've worked with Ross for 6 months, four days a week, every week since Owen was 8 months old. He's now 14 months old and is so happy, confident and meeting every milestone easily. We could not be happier with Ross, our experience with her has been brilliant. He laughs so much with her and is always delighted to see her. Honestly she's a life saver!
I'm really happy to chat to anyone who's considering working with Ross if you want more info or ask any questions. Please let Ross know and she can put us in touch.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. It’s been such a privilege taking care of Owen, and watching him grow into the cheeky, lovely and very funny little boy he is!
Ross had been amazing with our children and they love her so much! She has been an incredible addition to our family and made our lives so much easier when it comes to childcare. Our son had some additional needs and Ross has never been phased by him and knows exacly how to help him when needed.
