I come from Estonia and I have lived in three different countries which has helped me quickly adapt to new environments. I moved to Worcester 5 years ago to attend university where I studied psychology, including child development. I can cope well in stressful situations and patience is definitely one of my best traits.
My hobbies are reading, running, spending time in the nature and cooking/baking. I like to be active and spend time with friends and family. I love working with children because I feel like it is the job that matches best with my personality.
My Experience
I have an extensive background experience on working with children. I have been working as an au pair, nanny, teacher and carer in residential childcare plus unoffical experience with helping friends and family members with newborns and babies over the years. My experience working with families has been nothing but positive. I find that good communication with parents is fundamental for a great working relationship. My job besides looking after children has been to provide support in different areas around family life such as cleaning, cooking, shopping, running errands and anything else that can pop up. I believe that my job is to help out busy parents for them to enjoy quality time with their children. Therefore I can be very flexible around hours and different needs.
I was an au pair in the United States of America for a year from 2013-2014. I lived with a family and had sole charge every day when parents were at work. I was taking care of 2 sweet little kids, boy aged 5 and girl aged 9. My duties included school pick up, helping with homework, taking them to after school activities, helping with their daily chores, preparing children's meals, organising indoor and outdoor activites, helping parents with laundry, general tidying and occasional babysitting. I loved formed a good relationship with the family and have remained in touch with them.
When I moved to Worcester I worked as a nanny for a family nearly 3 years as my part-time job from 2016-2018. I looked after a girl aged 6 when I first started. My duties included school drop off and pick up; helping with homework; playing; bath time; taking her to after-school activities; helping parents with shopping for the house.
After finishing university I worked in residential childcare for a year as a care worker where my duties included meeting the physical, emotional, behavioural needs of children and young people in care; maintaining the home (cooking, laundry, cleaning etc); providing encouragement with their daily activities and tasks; care planning; record keeping; observation; transportation; meal planning; liaising with our multi-disciplinary team
My Qualifications
Completion of Cultural Care Au Pair program in the United States.
My Availability
I am available during the week however I can occasionally work on the weekends as well.
