I am a qualified Secondary School Teacher and I have a micro self employed tuition business and have had profiles on online tutor agencies for over 10 years.

I am QTS, PGCE and BSc Hons in Environment Studies and Business Administration from Nottingham Trent University 1999 and 2000. This means I am a qualified education practitioner. PGCE includes Junior School and Secondary school education training.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Local Education Authority Schools.

I have been a private tutor from 2007 to the present with many students who improved their grades and provided feedback on my online tutoring agency profile.

I am happy to advise homeschooling parents.

I am happy to tutor English and Maths from Year 7 and any National Curriculum subject at KS3 and at GCSE with the exception of Modern Foreign Languages and music.

This means I tutor all GCSE Secondary School subjects except MFL (Modern Foreign Languages) and Music or Art, D&T.

I tutor in A Level- Business Studies, Economics, History, Geography and Politics.

I welcome Dyslexic or Discalcula students and Keystage 1-4 (KS4 GCSE or any level).

Tutoring Approach:

I am very structured (Homeschool is more to parents wishes) and aim for exam students to have a thorough knowledge of the theory and the subject topic language - this topic language/name then becomes the short form of subject communication recognised by the experts ie Algebra is a Maths subject topic -and without this knowledge good grades are impossible. This means students in exams are required to define topics and then expand the details to answer questions for their subject or complete calculations from recognising the topic.

To this end I am prepared to make lessons -(tutor time) - interesting and entertaining where possible.

I tutor catchup programmes in English and Maths KS1-4.

I teach about top company information in the case of Business Studies and in Economics we keep up to date with the latest on the UK and World Economics information.

I believe in working through the recommended text books and revision books. There is no substitute for learning from the Recommended resources as this is the information the examiner expects to receive and the information easiest to mark.

For Key Stage 2 and SATs and GCSE Maths i have two excellent sets of math theory videos.
