About Me

My name is Joanne Gibson and I am 38yrs old. I am a mother to 7yr old girl and 3yr old boy. I'm looking for a career change. I have just become a registered childminder so am just starting out. I live in West Belfast and have my own car, home, do not smoke and have no pets.

My Experience

I completed a Diploma in Childcare and Education 17yrs ago. I have worked in 2 daycares for a total of 6yrs working in all rooms and as an assistant and supervisor. I also have lots of family and have been surrounded by children my whole life. I have 2 nephews with Autism (one severe non verbal and one mild) so although I have no formal training for this (yet) I have some experience in looking after them and dealing with their additional needs. I also have experience with allergies.

My Qualifications

Diploma in Childcare and Education, achieved at Belfast Metropolitan College June 08. I have completed core training with Nicma (1st aid, safeguarding and child protection, and health and safety) November 2023 and March 2024
