About Me

My name is Tracey and i have been a registered childminder for two and a half years.

Our bungalow is situated on Dalestorth Primary Schools ground.

I am currently extending my services as my daughter is registering to become a childminder herself, working from my house. We will work in partnership to look after the children we care for.
My daughter is level 3 qualified in Childcare learning and development and currently works in a children's centre. She has just had a baby so is currently on maternity leave but will be registered with me for September 2013.

I am a reliable and very trust worthy person and easy to approach. I love children and i am enjoying being a childminder as I find it very rewarding.

Working in partnership with parents in my opinion is very important and I aim to have good communication with parent/carers. I have parent/carer friendly policies and procedures which are available to look at at all times and these are followed in my practice.

The children in which I will look after are paramount and their individual needs and development will be met through observations, planning and through their All About Me (which will be filled in on your first visit). Equality and diversity are shown throughout my house and I have lots of toys to meet these needs.

My husband is the is the site manager of Dalestorth Primary School, he's been employed at the school for five years. He has an excellent relationship with school and the staff there and enjoys his job.

I have 3 children;
Keeley 22 (keeley will be joining me) who currently works for SureStart as a children's worker.
Mathew who is 19, and works for a print finishing firm.
Ella who is 6 and attends Dalestorth Primary School.

Both my older children currently do not live with me as they live with there partners.

My Experience

From leaving school i worked in care homes looking after the elderly.
I loved my job but when my second child was born i found it hard to get help with childcare.
So I started working as a dinner lady at Cumberlands school, it then changed its name to New Rose Primary School, which i did for several years.
I then became a cleaner at All Saints School where I worked for 10 years.

When my husband started working at Dalestorth School I wanted to do a job that I would enjoy so looked into becoming a childminder. I attended the courses and quickly found out that this was the job that I wanted to do.
Since starting childminding I have learnt lots of new skills and have attended relevant training.
I find my job enjoyable and rewarding and have a good relationship with all who I care for and the parent/careers too.

Tracey and Keeley have looked after my little boy. They are lovely people and are friendly to approach. Will help in anyway they can. Brilliant with children. Will miss them when the little one leaves.
