About Me

Hello! I'm currently studying a Master's in Child-Centred Play Therapy, which I will graduate from in summer 2027. I enjoy being outside, art and building relationships with the children I work with, and am interested in how creativity can serve as a tool to engage and communicate, and it has been woven into the support work I’ve done in the past. I enjoy exploring children's interests alongside them and tend to plan our days/activities with the aim of meeting children where they are, as I feel that gets the most peaceful and learning-filled outcomes.

In my time since graduating with an Education degree from the University of Brighton, I have worked across SEN support roles in 1:1 home and group therapy settings, as well as mainstream and private education settings. This experience has led me to integrate positive approaches to behaviour management into my practice, while placing play and creativity at the heart of the relationships with the children I work with.

My Experience

I graduated Brighton University with a first-class honours BA in Education in 2019. Since then I have worked in various roles in home, school, group and 1:1 therapy and youth club settings, primarily with children with Autism. Throughout this work I have used models that prioritise free choice and encourage self regulation.

I have experience as: an ABA Tutor; an Individual Needs' Assistant at Primary age; working with young people as a mentor; teaching classes of up to 30 students of a wide range of ages; supporting challenging behaviours in an SEN school; and regular nannying and respite care for children with additional needs.

I'm currently training to become a BAPT registered Play Therapist at Master's level.

My Qualifications

I have a 1st Class Honours BA Education; Team Teach Training (Positive Behaviour Support 12 hour); Level 3 safeguarding e-training; Understanding Autism (The Open University); Introduction to Sensory Integration e-learning; and I am currently completing my MA Play Therapy, due to graduate 2027.

My Availability

From late July I will be available part time, with a flexible schedule as I will be on my university break. There is a possibility for this to stretch closer to full time, please get in contact to discuss.

From September 2026 onwards I will also be looking for regular part-time work during the week, and can be available for babysitting during the week and on weekends. From September I will not be available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at all.

I am open to a conversation about what works for everyone, and can be flexible to accomodate - just shoot me a message!

Martha helped us out for full day care of my daughter, while we waited for reception to start.
The two of them had a very good bond, Martha would plan their mornings and afternoons around my daughter's energy.
She was also very autonomous, made my daughters lunches and packed snacks and water for any outings without me having to get involved.
There were plenty of walks in the common to get fresh air, to building Lego on days of lower energy.
I would recommend Martha highly!
