About Me
Hi. I'm Michelle. I'm 39 years old. I have a 18 year old daughter. I currently work as a nanny for 2 families in the Allestree area. I moved from Skegness to Derby due to my daughter and her father wanting to be closer to each other.This gave me the perfect opportunity to have a change in my life and different experiences. The best move I've ever made! The children I look after are aged 5,8and 11 in my first family. Aged 7and 11 in my second family. I adore the children and my job. My average day is coming to work for 8am. The children normally would of had breakfast and be dressed. I'd assist them getting washed and teeth/hair brushed. Generally be ready for school. I walk the children to school which is about a mile each way. It gives us all good exercise and fresh air. Once home I do the house work. Ironing, washing, hovering etc. After school we do something fun like den building in the woods behind our house,Darley park for a well deserved ice cream! Markeaton park. Teddy bears picnic. I cook the evening meal, tidy up and have the children ready for their parents return at 6pm.I have been a foster carer for 2 family members. Between them I have done this for 3 and a half years. Helping the boys to have a settled, safe, secure and loving environment. I'm an honest,kind,caring person that is fully committed to my work. I see myself as fun, having a bubbly personality and warm and friendly. I give 100% to my role. Thank you for reading. Michelle
My Experience
from the age of 13 I became a babysitter in the village I lived in. Ranging from children aged newborn to 10. I went to college and completed my level 3 in child care and education. I've worked in settings which I've delt with children who need extra help. This includes chilldren with autism, are deaf, and used a wheel chair. From being 18 I've worked in nurseries. I've helped in reception/year 1 in a school for 2 years. I've ran my own child minding business for 3 years. This ended due to skegness not having a high demand for it during the winter months.I went to a pre-school which I worked there for 9 years. Doing various roles such as Acting Deputy. Room Leader etc. I worked towards the EYFS. I had a good relationship with staff, children and parents. I've ran the local toddler group. Planning activities and summer clubs.I'm currently on the Derby local parent and toddler group committee. I'm the treasurer and general helper.I am also on the school PTFA .
