About Me
I am a kind, caring, patient person. I have raised my own children to be well rounded, considerate, sensible people and they have all done well in life and have never been in any kind of trouble. I am extremely proud of them. I also have five grandchildren and am very proud of them too. I have retired from working as an Early Years and Health and Social care lecturer and although I have hobbies and friends I do miss working and so would like to use my experience to find some part time work with children. I am reliable and punctual and can provide excellent references if required.
My Experience
I am a retired teacher/college lecturer.
I have taught in a Nursery class, a Special Needs school, worked for Social Services under 5s department, FE colleges, a Secondary School as a CACHE childcare and education teacher and more recently worked as an online Tutor teaching Nursery Nurses and Teaching Assistants. I have also worked as a Family and Cummunity Learning tutor and have organised and run Wellbeing and Health courses for the WEA.
Since retiring from teaching and starting work as a nanny I have worked with twin boys from when they were four months old until they started nursery and then a little boy (aged one when I started) while his mum recovered from an injury, collected two children from school and looked after them until their parents came home and looked after two children two afternoons a week to give their pregnant mum a break.
I also work as a freelance course author and am currently working on a project for an early years training company reviewing, updating and creating courses for them.
My Qualifications
I have the SNNEB Diploma, CertEd and a degree in Teaching and Learning.

Dee is a pleasure to have in my home. Dee is calm, confident, kind and very knowledgeable from all her vast experience and professional training, including teaching others. I often ask her for advice about my children. I have two toddlers and they absolutely love having Dee round to our house. Dee is lots of fun but also gently disciplines in a similar manner to myself which is much appreciated. Dee is really flexible and considerate, an asset to any family!
