Nicky has been the childminder for our son for 15 months, from the age of 10 months to 2 years. We reluctantly have to finish the arrangement due to moving house.
Nicky is an excellent childminder, our son has been treated as one of the family by everyone in her home. She has taken him to local playgroups most mornings during term time. Other activities that Nicky has regularly undertaken include visiting indoor play centres, playgrounds, country parks and theme parks, going swimming, and taking part in library activities. Nicky’s home is a fantastic environment for children, always clean, safe and warm, with a play room and a large garden. She has many books, toys and equipment in good condition and appropriate for our son to play with.
His development in Nicky’s care has been brilliant; he is physically advanced for his age, with Nicky’s encouragement to try new things as he became able. His speech and intellectual development have also been good as Nicky gave lots of attention and stimulation to promote this. Nicky has ensured that he had lots of interaction with other children and he is a very sociable little boy with other children of all ages.
Nicky is a very caring childminder, who we are sorry to leave. our son has formed a deep attachment to Nicky and we have been at ease leaving him with her, knowing that he is in such capable hands. Nicky is friendly, reliable, and helpful and has been very flexible around our requirements. We try to give our son a healthy diet with no confectionary and Nicky has followed our wishes, giving him healthy snacks and meals. Nicky obviously loves children and is very patient and calm, with a good sense of humour. He has been extremely happy in Nicky’s care which has made us happy parents.
