About Me

Hello, I’m Jen, and together with my husband Mike, we run NEST Childcare. I have been an Ofsted-registered childminder since 2015. We live with our teenage daughter, Beth, and Dolly, our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. We offer year-round care on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Our home is close to vibrant North Street in BS3. We provide a caring, safe, and stimulating environment where children have plenty of opportunities to learn through play. We encourage child-led learning and independence, offering tailored invitations to play based on each child’s interests and next steps. We are committed to the welfare of every child in our care and strive to create the best environment for them to thrive and grow.

Our days are filled with a wide variety of activities in our dedicated playroom, including crafts, messy play, reading, singing and dancing, role play, cooking, construction toys, puzzles, and themed adult-led seasonal activities. Children also have direct access to our enclosed garden, featuring a mud kitchen, water and sand play, and ride-on toys. We also enjoy outings to local farms, parks, beaches, playgroups, forest school, and libraries.

Jen has been an Ofsted registered Childminder since 2015, with have many years experience caring for many young children.

My Qualifications

We have completed BCC Childcare training and hold current First Aid and Safeguarding certificates.

My Availability

We are currently booking interviews for our available 4-day space for the Summer Term, starting April 2026, Monday to Thursday, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm.

My Fees

We offer Free Early Education Entitlement (FEEE) Funding. Please contact me to discuss your child’s eligibility and how this can be used.

Full day rate: £95 per day (without funding)
Ad hoc hours: £10.00 per hour (by prior arrangement)
