Julie
Nanny in Banstead
My Summary
Experienced After School Nanny
About Me
I am a confident, friendly, outgoing person who has over 35 years experience working with children. Throughout my career I have developed extensive knowledge of child development, particularly with the 0-5 year olds and have experience of supporting and working with children up to 12 years old.
My Experience
I have been working with children for over 35 years and hold a Foundation degree and BA Hons in childcare and education.
I currently work as an after school nanny for a family with 2 boys, however, I am now looking for a position more locally. Prior to this I was also employed as a nanny for a family with 2 girls, who are in the process of emigrating. I have also worked with 2 other families whose children started high school, so no longer required my services. I have been a afterschool nanny since 2016.
My other current job is working every morning running Boogie Beat music and movement classes for children under 5 years. I run sessions in local nurseries and schools term time only, during the mornings.
From 1997-2016 I worked as a Nursery Manager in the same day nursery for 17 years working with children from 3 months to 5 years old. My duties included inducting and training nursery practitioners and managing a team of up to 25 staff. I had overall responsibility of safeguarding children and ensuring health and safety standards were maintained at all times, especially with regards to adult:child ratios.
I was responsible for the quality of early years provision and ensuring that all children had a key person who were able to promote good outcomes for children through the Early Years Foundation Stage.
I worked closely with all parents, to engage and support them in their children's learning and development throughout their time at nursery.
In 2016, I made the decision to change my role to utilise my knowledge and experience working with children and families without all the administration and managerial tasks which comes with running a busy nursery.
I am highly flexible and adaptable, enabling me to respond effectively to the changing needs of children and families. At the same time, I am organised, reliable, and skilled at managing my time efficiently, ensuring that daily routines, school runs, and activities are carried out smoothly and consistently.
I am passionate about supporting children’s learning and development and strongly believe in the benefits of outdoor play, fresh air, and physical activity for their overall wellbeing. I enjoy creating engaging opportunities for children to explore, learn, and grow in a safe and nurturing environment.
Outside of work, I enjoy keeping active through gym sessions, swimming, running, and gardening. I am also an avid reader and have a keen interest in travel, having visited many countries across Europe and around the world. These experiences have broadened my perspective and enhanced my ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.
My Qualifications
NNEB (National Nursery Education Board) 1982
Arts Foundation Degree in Early Years 2011
BA Hons in Childcare and Education 2012
