About Me
My name is Debbie and I am an OFSTED Registered Childminder judged Good at my last inspection in February, 2024.
I have relocated back to my home address after working alongside my colleague for the last 15 years - we were known as Camden Bears Childminding.
I hold a full clean driving license.
I am lucky to have a very spacious outdoor play area with lots of activities such as play house with, kitchen, sand and water play, ride ons etc.
Toys inside the house are rotated on a daily basis. There is awide variety of toys for all ages. A separate area is used for prepared activities including crafts.
I enjoy planning activities daily for the children as well as providing a stable routine. For example, I regularly visit a local Care Home where I attend a ‘songs and smiles’ session and also a local theatre for interactive story time. Where I am situated I am able to walk to the common where we build dens! I am distracted close to Hargate Forest which can be made on foot, the RSPB Broadwater warren is a short drive away in the care.
I provide a home from home environment for the children and thoroughly enjoy my job as a childminder and have done so for a number of years.
I offer the Government Funding for 9 months, 2, 3 and 4 years old (Universal 15 hours and 15 hours working parent entitlement).
The minimum number of days to attend are 2 per week with a minimum number of hours per day being 7.5 hours with a start time o 8.30am (or earlier upon discussion).
My Experience
I have been childminding since July 2000. I have in the past worked alongside my colleague and following her retirement I have relocated back home.
Since registering as a childminder I have looked after countless children and I have thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it. I enjoy sitting with the children playing with them as well as singing time and reading with them. The cuddles received from the children are an added bonus!! I am a very maternal person and treat the children no differently to my own. I am able to provide up-to-date references of children past and present and of course contact telephone numbers of the parents so that prospective parents may speak with them regarding my childminding services.
My Qualifications
I regularly update my childminding skills by attending available training sessions run by Tunbridge Wells Childminding Association , online webinars via Childcare.Co.Uk and reading arctiles in the press, online etc.
I hold the relevant Paediatric First Aid Certificate and have been CRB checked and also hold an NVQ 3 in Early Years Care and Education along with numerous other certificates having received training in safeguarding children, autism, reflective practice. Most recently, I have received training on how to implement the Early Years Foundation Stage including observing, assessing and planning to help children from birth to 5 to develop well and to ensure that they are meeting their milestones.
My Availability
As a home based childcarer I am flexible , however my usual hours are from 8am to 5.30pm Monday to Fridays.

- Childminding from £8.00 per hour
