About Me
I am a qualified Primary Teacher, with a specialism in Early Years, living in Steyning with my children (William - 6 and Sophie - 3) and Husband, Matt.
I have a Bachelors Degree in Leisure Resource Management, a Masters Degree in Property Development, and have spent 4 years teaching 2 - 6 year olds in a British International School in Egypt.
In my "free" time I run the Army Cadets in Steyning, which I have been involved with for 24 years.
I am enthusiastic and active, and encourage the children in my care to be too. The television will NOT go on in my house!
I aim to provide a stimulating and welcoming environment, where the children can explore and become independent learners. We grow several varieties of fruit in the garden, such as raspberries; strawberries; blueberries; redcurrants; blackcurrants, which we pick fresh each morning to put in our porridge! We also grow tomatoes, runner beans, peas, potatoes, carrots etc, and I like to help the children to grow their own.
I love being creative and inspiring children to want to make things, as well as encouraging them to explore and play outside whatever the weather.
My Experience
I have worked with children for many years: I have been a Volunteer Playworker with the West Sussex Children and Family Centre since 2008. In 2005/6 I worked as a 'School Assistant' at Steyning Grammar School, covering lessons at short notice when a teacher was absent. I also taught in Pre-Foundation, Foundation Stage 1 and Foundation Stage 2 (Reception) at the British School of Egypt and Cairo English School, delivering the EYFS Curriculum for England and Wales.
My Qualifications
I have a BSc (Hons) Degree, an MSc Degree and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education with a Specialism in Early Years. I hold a current Paediatric First Aid Certificate, Level 2 Food Hygeine and have completed Level 3 in Home-based Childcare. I have had Rhyme Time Training, frequent Child Safeguarding training, and regularly update my CPD through online or practical courses in subjects such as Behaviour Management, Autism Awareness etc.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.50 per hour
I charge an hourly rate, with meals as extra:
Snack = 50p
Lunch = £1.50
Dinner = £2.00
