About Me
I am a 42yr old English married female who has been working with children for the past 23yrs and been nannying for the past 18yrs. I also have my own beautiful neurodiverse 5yr old daughter.
I love working with all ages of children and have my DBS check, paediatric first aid and nanny insurance alongside other short course qualifications.
I have a particular passion for working with children with special needs. I am thoroughly reliable, highly organised, honest, trustworthy and have excellent references.
Alongside nannying I also work as the Community Families and Children's Worker for St Mary's Eaton Socon
My Experience
I have worked within childcare for the past 23 years - this has included work as a children and families worker, mother and toddler group leader, baby group leader, nursery supply worker and teaching assistant as well as the last 18yrs working as a nanny.
I also have a wide experience of children who have specialist needs. I have worked with children who have Down Syndrome, Autism, ADHD, Epilepsy and who are non-verbal as well as other medical conditions. I have a good knowledge of Makaton as well as good experience using PECS. I am able to accept "direct payments" (what was "short breaks") for any time which doesn't cover a time you are working (i.e. respite care, evening babysitting etc).
I also have a good experience of working with all children from newborn to teenagers, this includes weaning, toilet training, early years development, preparation for school and homework
I enjoy being out and about and taking children to mums and toddler groups, swimming, library sessions, soft play etc and I have a good knowledge of the local groups and facilities. When at home I enjoy singing nursery rhymes, doing baking, crafts and sensory play.
Having worked in previous nannying jobs, I know how important it is to have a good relationship and keep in constant contact with parents, so that two-way communication can help to maintain consistency for the children.
I have experience of working with multiple children at once.

I am currently available on Mondays and Tuesdays, I would prefer to work term time only but happy to discuss year round work.
