? My childcare journey ?

I began my childcare career in 2016, working in a nursery, where I quickly discovered how rewarding it was to support children's development and watch their little personalities flourish.

In 2018, I moved into private nannying, caring for two wonderful children for 4.5 years until they both started full-time school. During this time, I planned engaging, age-appropriate activities that encouraged their curiosity, creativity and independence, both at home and out in the local community.

From science experiments and messy play to nature walks, pond dipping, feeding the ducks, bug hunting, farm visits and woodland adventures searching for the Gruffalo, there was always something exciting to look forward to! I loved creating opportunities for the children to explore their interests, develop new skills and make happy memories along the way.

In 2021, I joined another nursery, where I gained further valuable experience working with children of different ages and developing my skills as a practitioner and room leader. I also completed my Level 3 Childcare qualification, giving me a strong foundation in child development, safeguarding and early years practice.

Although I thoroughly enjoyed my time in the nursery environment, I particularly missed the flexibility and freedom that private nannying offers, allowing me to tailor each day to the individual children and follow their interests as they develop.

I believe children learn best through first-hand experiences. Whether we are whizzing around on scooters, exploring woodland trails, feeding the ducks or spotting the changing seasons, everyday adventures provide wonderful opportunities to learn. We might practise counting the cars passing by, identify colours in the falling leaves or discover minibeasts in the garden, all while having fun!

In 2024, I began my journey as a ski nanny in the French Alps, providing high-quality childcare for families enjoying their holidays. This experience has been incredibly rewarding, allowing me to care for children ranging from just 11 weeks old to 12 years old.

Working in luxury chalets has taught me the importance of being adaptable, discreet and attentive to each family's individual needs. I take pride in providing exceptional care while ensuring parents feel relaxed and reassured, sharing regular updates and lovely photos of the children's daily adventures so they can enjoy their holiday knowing their little ones are happy and well cared for.

I am now looking forward to returning to the French Alps for my third winter season in 2026–2027, continuing to create wonderful experiences and lasting memories for the families I work with.

Looking ahead to May 2027, I am excited to find my next full-time nanny position and build another wonderful relationship with a family, supporting their children's development while making everyday life a little easier for their parents.

I truly believe that when you find something you love, it never really feels like work. Being able to play a part in a child's early years, encourage their curiosity and celebrate their achievements is something I have always treasured.

My background in animal management has also given me knowledge and experience in animal care, so I am more than happy to help care for family pets as part of my nannying role, if required.
