About Me

My name is Ellie Burke, I am 30 years of age. I have a long range of skills and qualifications including being a OFSTED registered childminder, a level 3 qualification in childcare, having up-to-date DBS and Paediatric First Aid and much more which emphasizes the skills and experience I can bring when looking after your children.

I am an enthusiastic and proactive person who thrives on being successful, exceeding my goals and expectations and who is an exceedingly good listener and good communicator as well as being respectful, honest and most importantly kind, caring and loving towards all of the children with whom I come into contact with.

I have previously been described as very approachable, patient and well-rounded in addition to being a good time keeper.

I find working with children the most rewarding job in the world and not because I meet and work with children but because I get the opportunity to see children grow, develop, mature and succeed from their first steps to their first day at school.

I am my job. I am the person who makes children feel secure and happy as well as loved and cherished; whose make parents feel relaxed and assured that their children are safe and happy every minute of every hour I spend with them.

I’ve lived in Brentford since 2009 with my husband. We had our baby boy in September 2019 we’ve loved becoming parents and cherish all the time we get to spend with him. I’ve been very lucky to take Rudy along with me whilst working in Kew and feel now Is the right time to branch off on my own again. Now he is at school I’m open to becoming a full/ part time nanny that allows me to be able to pick up my own son every other week to fit in with my husband’s work pattern. I am happy to do this with your child if that’s something you are also open to.

Warmest Regards

Ellie

My Experience

WORK HISTORY

Childminding assistant- Kew- May 2018- November 2021
During my time here I got my own childminding registration.

Registered childminder and manager November 2021- present

I decided to have a slight change of career within the childcare sector. Which led me to becoming a childminding assistant. This role was based in Kew looking after various aged children from 6 months - 8 years. I worked alongside two other childminders from one house. Within my time here I had 6 key children who I observed and planned for using the EYFS as my guideline. I planned activities inside and out which were age appropriate. I also was involved in cooking healthy balanced meals.
I planned activities for my key children based on their needs and ability, making it more enhanced for older children whilst still giving the younger children time to get involved and giving all the children in my care the support they needed.
We went our regularly to Kew Gardens, parks, picnics in open spaces, also trips further afield to museums, farms and soft plays. All these outings had a purpose each time teaching and helping the children to gain in every way possible.

Sole charge nanny - Brentford- July 2017- April 2018

This role was working for a lovely family In Brentford, they have a little boy whom is 20 months old 4 days a week Monday - Thursday and occasional Fridays too. We do lots of different activities each week which include soft play centers, children centers, visits to Kew Gardens and the farm etc. I also took over taking Baby N to his weekly baby swim class once him mother returned to work. Besides all of our outings we did lots of creative play at home such as painting, card making and corn flour play.

I planned weekly meal plans in advance to ensure Baby N had a variety of healthy and nutritious meals and snacks for the forthcoming week. I also printed the EYFS guide lines for children's developmental needs to ensure that Baby N was following guided milestones and what i could do to help him move on to the next ones. Within my time at this role Baby N had learned to walk, talk, count to 10, learn nursery rhymes and actions, move on to finger food and use a fork and spoon and much more.
This role is sadly came to an end as Baby N's parents family circumstances have changed and will no longer need me.

Sole charge Nanny – Isleworth - Jan 2016 – July 2017

This amazing role with a boy of 9 months old at the start has been a refreshing experience. The role within this family of three was created to ensure that baby J met all his milestones including moving him from pureed to finger foods and altering his diet intake to assist with his issues of constipation.
The role also included routine management where I worked with his parents to alter his routine to one that was appropriate for his development, encouraging him to crawl and walk in-line with the milestones he needed to achieve.
In addition I ensured that Baby J who had a very active social life was introduced to age appropriate activities including singing hands, soft play centers, farm visits, play dates and more.
Finally my role also involved preparing freshly cooked meals for the entire family, laundry duties for the baby, maintaining a clean environment for baby J and working with the family to ensure the area was maintained for his safety.

Sole charge nanny share - Twickenham/ Isleworth - Aug 2014 – Dec 2015

This role was my first shared nanny role, which, was an amazing experience and a learning curve I relished. It involved two unique families each with a female toddler aged one year.
During my time in this role I had worked to change both girls’ routines to fit in together, which they both adapted to very well including their meal and nap times and to minimise the impact of the change of surroundings on alternate weeks from each families home.
My duties involved preparing healthy and nutritious meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner, putting both girls to sleep for their naps, creating age appropriate home-based activities for both girls as well as attending outdoor based activities such as the farm, soft play centers, parks, weekly singing and dancing groups. It also including occasionally assisting with the bath-time and bed-time routine when either parents had to work late.

Sole Charge Nanny - Ealing - Jan 2013 to Aug 2014

This particular Nanny role required me to look after 3 wonderful girls, twins of 14 months and a 3 year old. The duties included carrying out the daily school run and attending after-school activities such as Drama Club and play dates. Assisting with the homework schedule, preparing meals and snacks for all the children, taking the twins to age appropriate activiites as well as creating home-based fun activities using play dough, baking, puzzle’s and painting.
The role also involved assisting in toilet training the twins and light housework.

Asquith Nursery – 11th Jul 2011 to Jan 2013

My role as a Nursery Nurse was an invaluable experience. I had been there over a year, which was my ultimate plan in order to acquire additional skills and to strengthen the skills I had previously obtained to transfer to my future Nanny career.
The role involved working with children from ages 3 months to 5 years within 4 age groups (3-12 months, 1-2 years, 2-3 years, 3-5 years).
I assisted in creating and contributing towards menu planning In order to provide nutritionally balanced diets especially for the babies 6m+ during their weaning stages as well as to the design and maintenance of behavior planning for the children who suffer from difficulty or who require additional support.
Other key parts of my role include completing the necessary paperwork for the health and well being of each child such as a Key Workers Diary, risk assessments for internal and external activities.
