A recent inspection found this childminder to be providing good overall care and education. Children enjoy strong relationships, feeling safe and happy while making good progress in their learning. Language development is prioritized through constant conversation and vocabulary building. Outdoor activities, including visits to local parks, shops, and the library, are regularly organized. To further improve, children should be allowed more time to explore resources independently.

I found Valerie to be a lovely women. She would go pick up my children sometimes later then I told her too and would often go by cab as she didn't drive. Unfortunately I ran into certain situations when I found out she left them to their own devices. My children were making videos which ended up on YouTube and Tiktok with her grandchildren who she looks after at the same time. I asked her to remove it offline but it is still up. She wanted paying weekly which wasn't feasible as I was still getting help from UC. The straw was when my daughter started being scared of everything. She said she was watching scary brain rot videos at hers, had a few bed accidents and resulted in being frightened of the dark. When I sat down with a doctor she told me she and her four year old sister was left alone in the house two times alone and one time with one of her granddaughters who is 9. That was it. I had to let her go. After a few months of therapy and ensuring my child is safe we are rebuilding. I haven't left them without family since. I was really let down as I waited for her to be available for me and my children.

Thanks Valerie for looking after my son. Thanks for your nurturing service and expertise that led you to share your concerns about my son’s development, which, thanks to you, led to my son being assessed for additional needs. My son now has an EHCP, and is now thriving in Reception all because of your attention to detail, caring and professional attention.
