About Me
Hi I am Amanda, I have been an Ofsted registered Childminder for 16 years, but have 23 years experience with children. I work with my husband, daughter and an assistant who I used to childmind to provide childcare that is tailored to the needs of each family. We cater in full time, part time, shift work and wrap around care. My fees include all meals and drink and we just ask for parents to supply nappies, wipes and change of clothes. I offer funding places from 9 months to 4 years and over the years have sent many children to reception class with a great knowledge of phonics, numbers and great social skills. I have had three children of my own that are now 23, 19, and 17. I have training in ASD, ADHD and Dyslexia as one of my children is Autistic and one is dyslexic. I am Special Educational Needs trained (SENCO) and have dealt with many professionals obtaining support for children once they reach school level. I have also done my early years degree, professional certificate in early years, level 3 diploma in homebased childcare, first aid training, safeguarding training, prevent duty training and many other training courses to support children. My staff also are trained in the necessary qualifications for childcare settings. We do have pets 2 dogs (English bulldogs) and cats all have been round children from the day they were born and all have be met by Ofsted inspectors and were happy with them in the setting as the provide opportunities for children to grow and develop an understanding for taking care and respecting animals. The food provided is cooked on site and we cater for the individual needs of families regarding allergies and religious requirements. My Experience
I have been a childminder for 16 years and the most important thing is that I have 3 children of my own so now how important it is to leave your children with someone that you trust. I have experience with children that have SEN such as Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia and children with allergies, along with the general daily development of children from 0-18 years and the struggles of being a parent to children. Many of the children that are in our setting have started from babies and stay with us until they move on to Secondary school, but even then they still drop in for a snack and a chat about their day.
The setting is a home from home environment that allows children to feel relaxed and settled. We follow a daily routine that allows for free play, set activities, story time, dance time, music and arts and crafts. There is a garden for children to explore and in the summer months a lot of our activities are outside exploring bugs, flowers and planting flowers and vegetables. We teach children phonics, numbers, etc as well as weekly themes and an understanding of respect, love and care for everyone. Children can stay with us until they start full time school at reception age and this enables us to provide a one to one approach to their early years education and identify any concerns that may arise. All our children that stay with us full time until reception go off to school as confident, friendly, well behaved individuals with a desire to learn.

My Availability
