My Summary
About Me
Hello families!
My name is Wojtek (pronounced Voy-tek) and I live in Fulham. I’m a qualified English Teacher with a BA degree from Poland, and I’ve been living in the UK since 2016. I have many years of experience working with children – as a nanny, tutor, and teacher – both in schools and private households.
As of September 2025, I will be working full-time as a SEN teacher, building on my experience supporting children with special educational needs in both mainstream schools and family settings. For the past year, I’ve worked as a Supply Teacher, and I’ve also spent three years as a Teaching Assistant at Thomas’s Fulham, where I regularly led small group lessons and supported children with diverse learning needs.
On Saturdays, I teach at a Polish Saturday School in New Malden, where I’ll be working with Year 4 this academic year.
In addition to teaching, I’ve been a nanny and babysitter for over 10 years, caring for children of all ages. I’ve also supported individual children, including a young boy, whom I took swimming regularly for over a year. I have a warm, patient and engaging approach, and I always strive to create a fun and safe environment for every child.
I also offer private tutoring for primary school children, with a focus on English, Maths, or other subjects depending on your child’s needs. I love helping children grow in confidence and making learning enjoyable.
I am currently available for:
• After-school tutoring or babysitting (weekdays)
• Weekends – Saturday after 2pm and all day Sunday
• Half-terms and holidays
I’m confident in the kitchen and enjoy preparing healthy, home-cooked meals. I’m also happy to help with children’s laundry, and I’m naturally organised, punctual, and tidy.
I hold a full UK driving licence and although I no longer own a car, I cycle regularly and enjoy long walks. I love playing football, swimming, running and table tennis. I’m active, reliable, honest, and bring lots of energy and creativity to my work. I also have a passion for music and sports – I play the guitar and piano, sing, and love sharing music with children. Whether we’re learning, playing or making music – children are never bored with me!
I have excellent references available – feel free to get in touch, I’d love to hear more about your family and how I can help!
My Experience
I have extensive experience working with children in a variety of educational and home settings, both in the UK and abroad. Here’s a summary of my background:
• Au Pair/Nanny Experience:
I first worked as an au pair in the USA (2013–2014), caring for a 10-year-old autistic boy, which gave me early hands-on experience with SEN. In the UK, I worked as a male nanny/au pair for several families and stayed with my last host family for over 3.5 years. They would be happy to provide a reference.
• Teaching and Classroom Experience:
I’ve completed over 150 hours of teaching practice as an English teacher in primary schools.
I worked as a Teaching Assistant at Claremont Fan Court School (Year 5 – 2019) and later at a private school in Esher, where I supported a child with autism in Reception.
I spent three years as a TA at Thomas’s Fulham, mainly supporting pupils in Years 5 and 6.
Most recently, I worked as a Supply Teacher for one year, teaching in both mainstream and SEN schools across London.
• Polish Saturday School:
For the past 9 years, I have been teaching at a Polish Saturday School in New Malden (9:00–13:00). This September will mark my tenth year, and I will be teaching Year 4.
• Tutoring Experience:
I’ve worked as a private tutor for over 5 years in Poland before I moved here, teaching English to children and adults, and continue to tutor primary-aged children in the UK across English, Maths, and other subjects.
• Volunteering:
Between 2013 and 2016, I volunteered regularly at an orphanage, and also took part in three summer camps where I had 24-hour responsibility for children aged 3 to 12. Each camp lasted 17 days, and I gained valuable experience in providing consistent care and emotional support.
