My Summary
About Me
Maternity Nurse | Nanny | Educational Provider | Supply Teacher
I am a 45-year-old English childcare professional based in Hertfordshire, with full flexibility to travel throughout North London.
I am a qualified Maternity Nurse, experienced Nanny, and Educational Provider with a strong background in early years and child development. In addition to private childcare roles, I also work part-time as a Supply Teacher across schools in Hertfordshire, which keeps me current with the national curriculum, safeguarding practices, and educational standards.
With extensive hands-on experience caring for newborns through to school-aged children — including raising my own daughter, now 21 — I bring both professional training and real-life understanding to every role. Childcare and education have always been my passion, and I am committed to providing exceptional, well-rounded care tailored to each family’s needs.
I began my career in a Montessori nursery in North London, where I developed a strong foundation in child-led learning and holistic development. I have since incorporated these principles into my nannying and educational roles, creating structured yet nurturing environments that support emotional wellbeing, independence, confidence, and academic progress.
Professional Profile
I am reliable, highly organised, punctual, and discreet. Families describe me as warm yet appropriately assertive, compassionate, loyal, and extremely hardworking. My Experience
?
I began my career at Clowns Nursery in Golders Green, where I developed a strong foundation in early years education within a Montessori environment.
My first nannying position was at the age of 18 for a family based in Belsize Park. I worked as a sole charge nanny and remained with the family for several years, building a trusted and long-standing relationship.
Throughout my career, I have held a number of sole charge roles, including caring for newborn twin boys for two and a half years. I was also sole charge nanny for a family with three children — a five-year-old girl and her teenage siblings. I remain very close to this family, and their youngest daughter has joined my own family on holiday. During this role, I also undertook a nanny share, caring for a young boy for almost three years until he relocated to Los Angeles with his mother.
I cared for an 18-month-old girl and her four-year-old brother in Bounds Green as their sole charge nanny. I then worked full time in Islington in a nanny share for two families, as sole charge nanny, working from 7:00am to 6:00pm. This position concluded when both mothers went on maternity leave.
I later worked part time, Monday to Friday from 3:30pm to 6:30pm, as a sole charge nanny and remained with that family for seven years. I also worked part time Monday to Thursday from 7:15am to 2:30pm, preparing a young girl for Montessori nursery, and was with that family for three years.
In addition to private childcare roles, I am able to work as a Court Family Supervisor, providing supervised contact for a parent under court order.
Last year, I established my own business as an Educational Advisor, offering support and guidance to families in relation to positive sleep routines, healthy eating, and behavioural concerns.
I was accepted as a volunteer with the Samaritans and dedicate one evening per week to supporting individuals in need.
I have recently completed two training courses — one at the Tavistock and Portman and the other through City and Islington College. I am committed to continuing to further my academic studies to strengthen my knowledge of children’s development and mental health.
My experience ranges from newborn twins through to teenagers aged 15, alongside my own invaluable experience as a mother, which I consider to be the most important experience of all.
I hold written and reliable references for all roles mentioned, and all referees are contactable by telephone.
My Qualifications
I hold an NVQ Level 2 qualification, along with a Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills.
I have successfully completed Developing a Diverse Child and Adolescent Workforce: An Introductory Course (CPD64) at the Tavistock and Portman, further strengthening my understanding of inclusive practice and child development.
In addition, I hold a Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Children and Young People’s Mental Health, completed through Capitol City Training via distance learning. This has enhanced my knowledge of emotional wellbeing, behavioural awareness, and supporting children with mental health needs.
I am a trained non-medical Maternity Nurse.
I undertake continuous training with The Samaritans as part of my ongoing voluntary work, ensuring my listening skills, safeguarding knowledge, and emotional support techniques remain current and professional.
I have completed my First Aid training and hold a current DBS, which is registered on the Update Service and available for viewing at any time.
