My Summary
About Me
I'm Jess, I'm a loving and caring person who loves to work with children. I believe that childhood is all about exploring, having fun and learning through play.
It is a privilege to work alongside families and help raise their children. I would describe myself as an aspiring career nanny- this isn't a job I'm doing to get me through the next few years this is what I aim my career to be. I would say my nannying style is very much child led, I like the children to guide what activities via their interests.
An average week with me as your nanny normally includes- multiple trips to the park, classes, playgroups, baking/cooking, music and dancing, reading lots of books, sensory and messy play and arts and crafts. I like to build up a community around the children I look after with other nannies and Childminders to aid in their socialisation skills and to give them a few friends also.
In my spare time I am a volunteer with GirlGuiding and assist with the running of a Guide unit in Blackheath. This involves me giving new opportunities and a space for girls and young ladies to develop, grow, explore, learn new skills, have fun and build relationships. I use the skills that I have learnt through volunteering to further my nannying.
My Experience
I have many years of experience of looking after children of multiple ages. I have been with my current family for over 4 years now and love them dearly. I worked in nurseries for 5 years where I would look after children between the ages of 3months and 5 years. I have been a nanny for the past 8 years looking after children between the ages of 1 and 10. All of my nanny roles have required me to look after sibling groups. I have been a babysitter for many years with various family's and lots of them reoccurring. I can get references from my previous employment.
I have experience with multiple medical issues including, childhood cancer and treatments, asthma, epilepsy, hyper-mobility, asthma, mild and severe allergies.
I also have experience travelling with families internationally and doing proxy parenting.
My Qualifications
I currently have a level 3 as an early years educator. I have pediatric first aid training, which I completed January 2023- valid for 3 years. I have a clean driving license and a car of my own with business insurance on it. I have previously been Ofsted registered and would be willing to do this again- it wasn't needed for my current position so the family didn't want to continue it.
My Availability
I am available for full time work 4/5 days a week.
