Hello and congratulations on your pregnancy/ new arrival,
My name is Xanthia and I’m a maternity nurse with a genuine love for working with newborns, and young babies as well as supporting new mums at the start of their journey with a new baby. I am a qualified midwife transitioned into a career nanny and maternity nurse, with a current CRB and am also fully trained in adult basic life support as well as paediatric first aid.
I am a relaxed easy going individual happy and excited to teach new parents everything they need to know in order to ensure they have a content healthy baby in an easy to follow routine equipped with all the skills necessary to manage day to day care, growth spurts and transition easily into the next stages of development with confidence. Hugs, cuddles, tummy time and nursery rhymes are always an integral part of the way I care for all my babies. I’m experienced with twins, triplets, premature babies and infants with medical conditions and weaning.
Once with your family I take care of all baby duties including washing, sterilising, making up feeds, ensuring a tidy nursery, daily walk, bathing changing etc. For some parents my journey with them begins during pregnancy when I assist in the buying a preparation of all nursery and baby items and then arrange the nursery ready for delivery.i am also happy to arrive at the hospital post-delivery to assist with all feeds and initial baby care in hospital. Once you and your new arrival are at home I can then either work 12 hours live out or 24 hours live in depending on your requirements. I accept positions both in the UK and abroad and can confidently travel with newborns.
Working in private homes i can appreciate first hand what a new experience it can be having a maternity nurse stay in your home which is why i make it a priority to build supportive, long lasting relationships with my clients and do everything possible to ensure the happiness of the parents as well as their new arrival.
My work ethos is always to care for your baby following your own personal parenting views and philosophy, to ensure that your baby is cared for just the way you need him or her to be.

Xanthia looked after my daughter from the age of 4 months to 1 year. During that time she provided our family with consistent support, advice and helped us implement a routine which worked beautifully. As well as stimulating her in the home, she resourced the local community for playgroups to take her too every day, prepared healthy meals in advance and ensured that developmentally we were providing her with the adequate toys and games to keep her motivated and learning.
Xanthia is extremely reliable, punctual and very trustworthy indeed.
We have no hesitancy in recommending Xanthia to any family in need of a maternity nurse.
Xanthia took care of our son as we came out of hospital and helped us to settle in the life with a new baby. She showed us the basics of taking care of a newborn and much more, she also explained us what to expect over the next few weeks.
Xanthia settled our son into a four-hours routine rapidly as we were keen to have some structure - but was able to flex it when we were recommended to increase the number of feeds so that our baby would gain back his birth weight. Xanthia showed us how to flex the routine so that it works in "real life".
During the period she was with us, Xanthia was at all time professional, pragmatic, cheerful and even tempered, a very pleasant presence in the house at a time of massive adjustments.
At the end of the 4 weeks, we felt that Xanthia has empowered us to take care of our son in a way that works for him and us. We are extremely happy to recommend her services to new parents.
