About Me
Hello! I’m a qualified primary school teacher ,with over 10 years experience in the classroom, and an experienced child mental health practitioner, currently working within children and young people’s mental health services.
I offer specialist tuition for primary aged children, combining academic support with strategies to manage anxiety, support wellbeing and boost confidence.
My lessons mostly take place online however on some occasions I may be able to offer tuition in person from my home so please do get in touch.
I have now left full time teaching and have been working within child and adolescent services for around 5 years. I am trained to assess neurodevelopmental conditions and I am experienced in advising education professionals how to support children with ASC and ADHD. My current role involves working with children in a therapeutic capacity, within education settings, providing support & strategies to help them thrive emotionally and academically. As part of this I work closely with their teachers advising how they can also support them. I like to bring these skills this into my tuition and like to think of myself as a Therapeutic Teacher.
Who I work best with:
- Primary school aged children.
-Children preparing for SATS or 11+ exams. I have a 100% pass rate for entrance exams into local grammar schools.
-Children with ADHD, autism, anxiety, or low confidence. I get to know your child so that they feel comfortable and understood. I don’t take on lots of students so that I can dedicate time preparing for lessons that are tailored specifically for your child, their interests and ability.
-Children who thrive with structured, patient, and encouraging support.

My Experience
Qualified Primary School Teacher (QTS). I spent several years working as a primary school teacher in a range of year groups, from reception to year 6. I have worked in a mix of independent and state schools.
Prior to teaching I spent several years as a teaching assistant, working one to one with children in the classroom.
I have strong expertise in core subjects, throughout the primary curriculum and have a 100% pass rate in supporting children to get into several of the local grammar schools (Bury Grammar, St Bede’s Grammar & The Grange)
I am highly skilled in adapting lessons to individual learning styles, ensuring all children make progress.
Qualified Children’s Mental Health Practitioner experienced in providing consultations for educational professionals on how best to support children emotionally within mainstream education settings
Experienced in building confidence, managing anxiety, and developing emotional regulation skills.
Trained in early intervention and evidence-based strategies to support learning readiness.
Worked as a Neurodevelopmental Practitioner, diagnosing and supporting children with ADHD & autism.
Experienced in collaborating with schools and families to create structured learning plans and tailored support.
Skilled in working with children who struggle with concentration, confidence, or exam-related stress.

My daughter had 6 sessions with Claire, ahead of sitting the 11+ exam.
She built a good rapport with my daughter very quickly. She gave clear direction and explanations whilst teaching.
My daughter found the lessons fun and engaging, which is sometimes hard to do via teams.
My daughter ended up passing her exam with flying colours and developed a huge confidence boost in her own abilities throughout the process.
