About Me
I offer FACE to FACE tuition from YOUR HOME but have also perfected my ONLINE processes and can offer virtual lessons too.
I pride myself on the relationships I form with the children I support. I am all about making the children I teach feel comfortable enough to ask questions and make mistakes from which they will learn. My tutees very quickly grow in confidence and grow from strength to strength.
I love making learning fun with games and practical with resources where possible. My tutees look forward to our lessons each week and so do I, I genuinely love what I do.
With all my tutees I begin by completing a full assessment in the areas they need support in. My lessons each week are planned based on the information from these assessments.
Although I come with a plan for each session my tutees can still very much guide the topic of the lesson. They may for example be struggling with something they are doing in school or their homework. I come with a range of resources and can adapt my plan accordingly.
I like to tell them to consider me as their own personal teacher for a full hour to ask the questions they haven’t been able to ask in school. I’m always on hand during the week if parents have any questions about homework before my scheduled lesson.
In most cases I always ask my pupils what they would find the best use of time so that our lessons are a collaborative learning experience that is personal to them.

My Experience

Over 10 years experience in the classroom
6 years tutoring experience
Experience in teaching all key stages including early years.
I have helped prepare students for year 2 and year 6 SATS as well as 11+ entrance exams.
I can help in any subject but particularly love maths.
SEN experience
I have a strong knowledge in ASD and ADHD and experience in assessment of these. Currently completing additional training in delivering CBT interventions for children with common mental health conditions too.

PGCE- Primary Education (University of Cumbria 2014)
PgDip Educational Mental Health Practice (University of Manchester 2022)
BSc Psychology (university of Lancaster)
10 GCSEs A-B
4 A levels- A-C
TEFL- 150hour.
My Availability
I am available most evenings after around 5pm. I can be available weekends too.
I am happy to travel to your house providing that it is not too far away from my area or we can arrange to met in a nearby library if necessary.
