About Me

We’re a family in Islington looking for a kind, patient and reliable mentor for our 11-year-old autistic son — a bright, funny and curious boy who sometimes finds social situations and emotional regulation challenging. We’d love someone who can help him build confidence, communication and social skills through relaxed, one-to-one activities such as walks, games, building projects or exploring his interests.

My Requirements

After School Nanny
Part Time Nanny

We’re hoping to find someone who can help him build confidence, social and communication skills, and positive peer relationships through regular one-to-one time and practical activities.

What the role involves:

Spending 1–2 hours a week (after school or weekends) doing enjoyable activities such as playing games, going for walks, visiting the park, building things, or exploring his interests (which include [insert e.g. Lego, nature, computers, or science]).

Supporting him to practise social interaction, emotional understanding, and problem-solving in real-life situations.

Providing a calm, supportive presence and helping him develop self-esteem and independence.

Working in collaboration with the family (and possibly school or therapists, if relevant) to maintain consistency and support progress.

What we’re looking for:

Someone with experience or genuine interest in supporting autistic or neurodivergent children.

A positive, patient approach and a good sense of humour.

Ideally a university student or professional in education, psychology, or youth work — but above all, someone who genuinely connects with children and enjoys helping them grow.
