About Me
I am a qualified Early years educator and have 3 years experience in an additional needs nursery. I am currently on maternity leave after having my son in February 2021. I am looking at options for working with my child from November. I also have 1 years experience as a nanny. I am currently studying a degree in Children’s Learning and Development from September 2019 and will go on to start my BA this September (2021). I really love planning activities and things to make and do with the children I work with getting a lot of ideas and inspiration from Pinterest. I am passionate about making my own children’s toys and resources as so much of what is available in store and online isn’t as developmentally valuable as some ordinary everyday objects. I feel that I can provide new ideas for age appropriate activities based upon my knowledge of how children learn and develop and what is useful for their overall development as well as responding appropriately to the needs and wants of both the parents and the child whilst maintaining caring behaviour to encourage and build relationships between myself and the children (and you the parents). I also feel I can do this in a patient and calm attitude whilst being respectful to everyone around me. I also feel that I can provide essential organisational skills to the family and in doing so will be accurate in my knowledge of the daily routine of the family, meaning I can allocate time in the most efficient way and both effectively record the children’s development but also accurately portray the child’s progression. I will maturely represent the values and work ethic expected of me as a model to the children whist supporting and promoting a child’s individuality and diversity within society. Finally I will also provide a passion for looking after and caring for children in an optimistic fashion by being enthusiastic about activities and generally being concerned about the welfare of the children whilst assisting and helping the family with anything else that may be needed.
My Experience
I have 3 years experience working in an additional needs nursery which has facilitated me to undergo training opportunities such as Safeguarding, Tactile Signing for Sensory Learners, Makaton, Buccolam, First Aid, FGM, Prevent Duty, Manual Handling, Visual Impairment Training, Behaviour Training and Advanced Behaviour Training. As a result of this I now have full understanding of nursery and pre-school methods of assessment such as baselines and SAPP Targets as well as an overall understanding of the age categories and what is required by the EYFS – including how and what to plan for to meet these developmental outcomes. As well as this I have completed my NVQ Level 3 Early Years Educator in 2017 completed an additional qualification at level 3 early years inclusive practice in 2018. I have began
My degree in children’s development and learning in September 2019. I am DBS Checked and Certified and also have numerous school qualifications such as GCSE's and AS - should part of the role be assisting with homework of older children. I have also had experience babysitting for numerous families and have also helped look after young children whilst their mothers are busy. I have over a years nannying experience for a family in a mother’s help position as well as experience for 1.5yrs doing afterschool nannying - I have also done holiday help during the summer of 2017. I have newborn experience both from my previous work as a nanny and from having my own child. I currently work term time 9-3 in an additional needs nursery.
