My Summary
About Me
My name is Emma and l live in Lordswood, Chatham with my husband who teaches in a secondary school and my two girls, age 20 who is at the university and age 16 who is doing her A-levels. I am a teacher by profession and I also have a master degree in Early Childhood Education. I have been an Ofsted registered childminder for about 13 years. I obtained a good rating at my last Ofsted inspection in November 2019. I hold additional qualifications in first aid and CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Home Based childcare. I have completed the Early Years professional status (EYFS) program and did my placement in Lordswood Under- Five and Kestrel Under- Five preschool as well as Abacus nursery in Walderslade, Chatham. I have 5 years experience of teaching in various schools within Medway, Kent and London.
I offer a clean, safe, secure and stimulating setting for children between the ages of six months to 12 years. My objective is to provide a home away from home environment that is safe and secure, ensuring that children under my responsibility receive the best care and attention as well as support them to develop new skills that they may need for their next stage of life and school. I aim to do this by providing a caring & friendly service in partnership with parents in a welcoming, fun and calm environment.
I offer a smoke & pet free environment where children can play and learn. The children under my care learn through a variety of themes and activities for each stage of the EYFS. I aim to provide a variety of activities including visits to libraries, toddler groups, parks, farms etc. to enhance the children’s learning and development. I also provide a variety of quality toys and equipment to stimulate and challenge the children through play.
I share with parents videos and photos of the children's activities on "Whatsapp". I also write progress report at the end of the academic year and encourage parents to also share photos of what the children have been doing at home from time to time with me or comment on the videos and photos l share with them.

Emma is an outstanding childminder and we are so glad that we have found her to look after our two sons. Emma is highly experienced and extremely knowledgeable; she understands child development, and always provides a safe, nurturing and loving environment for the boys. Unlike our previous experience of childcare (A attended nursery two afternoons
a week previous to Emma), we now know exactly what our sons have done during the day, with Emma providing detailed feedback at pick-up, as well as information shared in texts both during the day and after.
The biggest testament to the loving environment that Emma provides is how quickly both boys settled when they started, especially E, who started going to Emma for 3 full days when he was 9 months, which given he was still fully breastfeeding was something we were very nervous about.
Emma provides a full schedule for the boys, fully supporting them in exploring the world,
learning about people and cultures, providing varied play settings, providing opportunities for
them to interact with different children, and developing their numeracy and literacy skills. They go out most days to the park and/or playgroups, as well as going on bigger trips, notable examples being Kent Life, the beach, and Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara.
Emma provides in-depth feedback and review sessions each term, sending me the relevant
documentation for their progress etc. We discuss how the boys are getting on generally, then go through the progress trackers in detail, sharing information to make sure they are accurate. Whenever there is something that the boys should be working towards in terms of their progress, Emma’s experience and knowledge are a fantastic resource, with her making suggestions of different things we could try, and she makes plans to incorporate those things into her planning to (if applicable). E is delayed in his progress (most notably in speech and language), and Emma has always discussed her concerns or observations with us, and has made recommendations as to services we can look at. I know that Emma has also spoken to professionals to ask for their advice on things that she could be doing to help support him.
Placing your children into childcare and finding the right childcare for your family is an extremely important and difficult decision. With the amount of time they spend in childcare each week, Emma is not only looking after our sons but she is helping us raise them, and we are extremely lucky to have found her for this. We cannot recommend Emma highly enough!

Emma has been our childminder since January 2024. She has looked after both of my boys, and continues to look after my youngest after his brother started school in September 2024. Emma is incredibly kind, caring, patient and thoughtful. She's given both of my son's wonderful experiences - they love going to the park and playing with her games and going in her garden.
I was a little worried after my eldest son went to school that his brother would miss him, but he loves going to Emma. He talks about her at home and is always happy to see her when we're out and about. She's very communicative and tells me how he's gotten on. I love seeing his photos! She encourages him to continue to develop his independence, such as gently guiding him to get his belongings or put his own shoes on at the end of the day.
She always has a smile when she welcomes him at the door every morning. It was really daunting having to find wraparound childcare when I went back to work but I couldn't ask for a better childminder for my child and I know that he is safe, secure and in a nurturing environment.
My boys have always felt at ease and comfortable with Emma. They absolutely adore her. I'm very grateful to Emma and they have thrived in her care.

I would always recommend Emma without a doubt. My son likes going to Emma. He even gets sad, when I pick him up.
Emma is a wonderful childminder she gets out daily sunshine or rain. Plenty of activities fun and educational
I have piece of mind when I drop my child off to Emma. I enjoy seeing the pictures/videos that Emma sends at the end of everyday.

Emma offers a warm and nurturing environment where children feel safe and happy. She consistently goes above and beyond in her role as a childminder. My son enjoys a wide variety of fun and educational activities that she plans with great care. Emma also organises engaging trips that help children explore and learn outside the home. Her trustworthy and professional nature gives me complete peace of mind. She is incredibly kind and treats my son with the same love and attention as if he were her own. Communication with Emma is always open, honest, and reassuring. She sends daily updates and photos, which I truly appreciate. It’s clear that she is passionate about her work and genuinely cares for each child. I wouldn’t want anyone else looking after my son.

Emma was available at a drop of a hat after I had a bad experience with a nursery. Arthur has learnt so much with Emma and she has truly nurtured his intelligence. She's been brilliant with potty training, whilst I was worried about Arthur's accidents, Emma never was and assured me. Arthur loves it at Emma's house, he has made so many friends and loves showing me his new library books every week.

Emma was recommended to us by a colleague friend and it is the best decision taken for our son. As a first child, his development was slightly behind due to a lack of interaction with other children. However, there was a massive progression in his development in terms of his articulation and social interaction within the shortest time he started going to Emma. My son vocabulary widened and we were all surprised on the number of words he knew at his age.
Again, One thing I noticed about Emma is her level of patience and experience working with kids. It was hard potty training our son but she urged us on and patiently took one task at a time until this was achieved.
Emma also send us daily videos whenever our son is with her. It is always refreshing to watch the activities he is supposed with like coloring, writing, puzzles etc. Sometimes they do bakery and am astonished the level of patience Emma has for each of the child to take turns in either rolling or mixing the floor. Because of this my son always want to help in the kitchen. This is a wholistic approach to identify every child's potential.
Emma also takes them out for social engagement like the library, story reading, gymnastics which my son likes the most. At the end of every academic year Emma prepares a comprehensive report on our son identifying areas of progression and areas we have to work on. Both my husband and I feel our is son is nothing short of any educational settings as he is fully prepared for reception.
Our son looks forward every morning to come to Emma and we are happy we make this decision. Thank you Emma for looking after our son and we would highly recommend if you are looking for someone who is patient and experienced in nursing your child then Emma is the best...

Emma looked after our 2 year old boy, and we couldn't have been happier with her. Emma is incredibly patient, and spent lots of time helping our son learn how to do puzzles, become more confident with slides and swings, and build friendships and confidence with other children. She took him out for lots of activities, and his learning progressed rapidly with her.
I was sad to move on from Emma, and my son misses his days with her. I would recommend Emma to anyone looking for a patient, kind and diligent childminder who will keep their child safe, happy, and developing. A rare find!
